2 Goals for Joshua Leivo. Last goal scored against the Florida Panthers almost 1 month ago.

3 Goals for Tanner Pearson. (I don't count the 2 empty nets that Pearson loves to score).

Both players get lots of second line ice time along with Power Play opportunities every game.

It's clear that there is a big problem with this team's scoring, especially on 5 v 5. I'm going to the rotten part of the apple, it's core, our second line players.

Leivo and Pearson gets all the ice time they could want, and only give us so little. Did we really expect that 2 goals Leivo or 3 goals Pearson would score a goal when Green put them out there in the dying minutes (empty net) of today's game against the flyers? Heck no. They are plugs... garbage.

Lets face it, they are not good players. If they can't turn this around in the next few games, I think it's time to end the experiment and waive them. The frustration watching these two play for me is at an all time high.

Be better or get waived boys.

I'm gonna..
The combination of a lack of depth and a coach that plays an underwhelming system is definitely the root of the cause. Tanner Pearson is a third liner at this point. So is Leivo. You don't want third liners in your top 6.

Problem is, even our injured players are bottom 6 players. Ferland isn't a 2nd line player right now. Sutter is a third liner. Motte is a 4th liner.

Need two-three more forwards that can play effective top 6 minutes, and less grinders. We also need a coach that plays a more fluid, dynamic offensive system, which fits our young players much better. Albeit, his system is better than Desjardins', it is still underwhelming.

Pearson and Leivo are still spoonfed top 6 minutes, LE is still on the roster...the bar is still for this team

Leivo running the 2nd PP unit at the half wall is absolutely hilarious

Not sure who you want to replace these guys with, but take a hard look and realize there isn't anyone better. Both of them give a hell of an effort night in and night out. The fact of the matter is, we are still a few years away from competing.. if things go our way.

Leivo reminds me of a slightly more talented Oreskovich. The talent and size is there, and you can clearly see the effort on ice. Both players are frustrating to watch and leave you desiring a lot more.

Leivo is apparently a really good possession player (so I’m told around here) yet that sure hasn’t helped him score. Maybe he should play with the puck less? Or just not be bad offensively?

Never really been big on Leivo and think he won’t be missed when he’s gone.

Pearson is well, just another placeholder until we get a real NHL winger.

They’re two big slow OK bottom-6 players being asked to play top-6 minutes.

In our last 15 games, they have a combined 1 goal in 30 games when you take out empty netters.

This is where signing a Connolly or Nyquist would have really helped us. Instead we signed Ferland, who sucks, and too many grinders are playing too high in the lineup.

Hopefully Leivo can figure out who to hug after a game 7

Leivo makes 1.5 mill and should be playing bottom 6 mins. Not his fault Green is terrible.

Pearson in any top 6 is funny as well

Pearson and Leivo are decent depth forwards but little else. On his best days, Leivo might get you 12 goals in a third line role and Pearson anywhere from 15-18 goals on the third line, with occasional second line duty.

But how Green is using them is the problem to me. Josh Leivo doesn't belong anywhere near a power play, first or second unit. And seeing Pearson on Petterson's for one more game is enough to make you want to gouge your eyes out. He just completely drags both Petey and Boeser down to his level.

Some of the current lineup decisions are a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

The effort is somewhat there but there is no result at this point i'd give Baertschi 2games and and if he performs better than those 2.

I don't see Oreskovich at all. Oreskovich is like an Antoski without the fighting skills and hits are not as Powerful. Both Antoski and Oreskovich both have no skill at all, all they can do is skate and hit and that's pretty much it. Leivo is a good possession player and is on pace for 33 points this year. Oreskovich has doesn't amywhere close to the skill to get 30 points

I seem to recall Oreskovich having decent hands and making some fairly nice dekes from time to time. And I included the words "slightly more talented" because obviously Leivo is better, so I don't see the need to compare their stats. It's an imperfect stylistic comparison, nothing else.

Until someone steps up and takes a step were stuck with Pearson and Leivo. We just don't have anybody else at the moment to push them down the depth chart sadly. We don't even have any cap space to get another top 6 player next off season. After next season in 2021 we should be in a lot better shape and hopefully some of the kids are up by then Pods looking at you here !!

If Josh Leivo playing 19+ minutes a game all last season with Pettersson and Boeser and failing to outproduce Loui Eriksson wasn't enough to sour you on the player, I don't know what will.

He can play in the league and not look out of place, but this is exactly why Toronto got rid of him. Can't check, can't produce, just takes up ice time.

And Pearson, yeah, there is a reason he played on 3 teams last season. And there was a reason the "haters" thought it was incredibly stupid to bank on 19 garbage time games to lock him into the 2nd line LW position that Benning's whiteboard certainly had him on.
