Rest in peace, Jose Antonio Reyes
Statement from Arsenal
The guy was overspeeding and killed his cousin and another on the process.
Not sure if R.I.P is appropriate in that case...
Wow even for you that’s low
So you're fine with overspeeding and crashing with passengers in the car? R.I.P to his cousins at least.
No absolutely not obviously that should go without saying. However, a man died so respect should be paid. He wasn’t a monster. I’m sure his aunt and uncle are not cursing his name right now. But are mourning the loss of their child and nephew.
No but if he died due to overspeeding and crashing, while killing two cousins, it's certainly blatantly reckless. We had in 2017 a crash that killed two young kids who were overspeeding and intoxicated while also broadcasting on periscope or something.
Just because someone acted slightly recklessly doesn’t make their death not a tragedy.
I don't know if "slightly reckless" is the right way to describe someone who killed 2 other people, and themselves, if that's the truth. A man who killed other people because of his recklessness isn't necessarily entitled to respect.
I can only speak for myself but I certainly would be inconsolable if my kids were killed this way, and I absolutely would be furious with whoever was responsible. To each their own.
You guys say that like Reyes held them hostage and they weren't having fun. I'm sure nobody was held hostage and people speed all the time.
Not sure what that has to do with Reyes but this was accident and he deserves our respects just like the other passengers and the extended family.
It’s quite remarkable because I’m certain those posters have gone over the speed limit they just happened to get lucky. I know I have.
I'm sure a lot of people have sped. I'm not sure why being desensitized to a specific reckless action absolves anyone of responsibility.
I'm sure lots of people drink and drive and never get into accidents.
Speeding isn’t the equivalent of drinking and driving and a man died so he deserves respect thats all that’s being said. There really isn’t much to say other than R.I.P and you move on in this thread. Anything else should be kept inside. This is disgusting to even discuss so, I’ll be avoiding this thread. Peace
Point was that they weren't getting much sympathy, despite dying.
What if Reyes had survived but his cousins died? What do you think people would be talking about now?
Jussi has upgraded from Transfer Source police to Who deserves to R.I.P police.
By the sounds of it, and awful waste of three lives. A profoundly sad event.
I'm glad you find speeding such an egregious crime.
What is actually known about the crash? That road seems like a divided highway in good condition. Doesn't sound like there was any involvement of other vehicles. So what causes a Mercedes S class sedan - a very safe and well handling vehicle - to just fly off the highway?
All we know is that they were going extremely fast. Like the kind of fast I would do at 1 AM in the desert when I feel like I have an hour left before I fall asleep at the wheel. There was nobody around them and they went off the road.
They didn't hurt anyone else, so yes, to respond to some of the frankly sickening posts earlier, it is ****ing tragic. It is also a lesson to be learned that even if it's late at night and you aren't endangering people while speeding, you should still be careful.
