Finding someone better is dirt simple. Letorgo is trash. We have multiple prospects with more upside. That alone is superior than watching him get slower, lose puck battles, turn the puck over, and generally just chase play while getting shelled.

Upside is not performance. That's one of the reasons for training camp, for young players to show they're ready to rock.
Two years ago Weal had a great finish, last year he didn't build on it.
It's up to young players to take jobs, not be given them.

To reach their upside they need a chance to perform.

This coach doesn't work on merit. If you favor merit based promotion you support a coach who works opposite to your philosophy.

Letestu has a points/60 of 1.0, a relCF% of -4.5%, and a relxGF% of -5.2% over the last 3 seasons. It was even worse this past season, and he'll be 34 soon. But he takes some defensive zone starts and is above-average at the dot and has veteran presence. The ultimate Hockey Guy 4th line signing.

Surely that was Jay Beagle.

I agree he played well in the playoffs. Actually threw his weight around and showed some skill. He's slow AF but he made an effort. It would not be a problem if he stuck around as 13 F but only on the condition that the pieces of crap Weise and Weal get waived first. I don't want to see them in the uni again. Then, it's only AMac...

Weal scored 21 points in 893 PP + ES minutes. Lehtera scored 8 in 606. And Weal was the better possession player. It's insane to want Weal waived before Lehtera.
