For some reason I see Ebbett skating out on to the ice to the tune of My Pony.

And would it shock you to see Kassian sent back down as a wake-up call soon? It certainly wouldn't shock me.

meh, hopefully Jordan can play with Jensen a bit and work on his faceoffs when he's down in the AHL, will speak a lot for his character if he does take his criticisms and works on them.

It probably would of happened already if Kassian had not been traded for Cody

So I don't entirely disagree with sending down Schroeder...IF we weren't depleted at center. Unless Kes is magically coming back soon, wouldn't it have made more sense to carry two centers?

I guess Raymond or Burrows at center is a far better .... option .... ? :shakehead

Everything AV has done recently tells me this is a guy who is out of ideas. He's just grasping at straws at this point.

No wonder the team is so listless.

His problem is that he's too stubborn to change something that once worked (and now doesn't because the league doesn't stay stagnant).

You can extend this philosphy to the assistant coaches (eg., see Brown & the power play).

The issue is three-fold. Being put on the 4th line, being demoted after center depth became even shallower, and moving a through-and-through winger in your place into that center spot. None of it really makes sense.

If you didn't see it, it's not clear cut. What is clear cut is that the Ray-JS-Hansen line worked. There were proven workable line combinations with Schroeder, and good prospective line combos that were never tried with Schroeder - and Ebbett is supposed to come in as a more viable lineup option? I fail to understand the logic.

Wow, figures that playing Schroeder with Weise and Sestito, plus playing him on the point in the PP didn't yield results. Who would've thunk! :sarcasm:

Please just fire AV. He's ran out of ideas.

Also, how do you send a guy down for being terrible in the faceoff circle when

-you are playing wingers at center
-the wingers you are playing at center are worse at faceoffs (except Burrows)

Schneider apologists. He simply did not produce at the nhl level even with skilled guys.

I didn't read the entire thread, but I had to chime in, and couldn't keep reading the same old.

IMO, the problem has been we have not been using our players right. First Why the hell was JS playing 4th line center? With Kesler gone he should have been the 2C between Kass and Booth, with the Hansen Higgins Raymond line as your checking line. Maybe that line gets more minutes, but the JS line should have been put in position to score, and the other line should be put where they are best suited, to shut down, and chip in when they can.

Then you have our PP which was getting some talking about in this thread, so I will mention it as well. The problem is pretty simple, and the #1 unit, there was no big RH shot. So when Hank sets up on the half wall, he has no one to set up for the big one timer. When teams see this, it cuts down on the options. Oh and get Edler out of there. When did our PP look best this season? When we had Kes setting up for one timers, even if he is not scoring them it is an option, and defenses have to respect it, and it opens up cross ice stuff.

Our second unit should be the oposite, with JS on the half wall, and Garrison setting up for one timers. I can't be the only one who sees this.

Just when I thought we were Ebbett-Free for the rest of the year, this. Damn it.

At least Schroeder and Jensen get to play together, maybe we call both of them up in the future to play with Higgins or Booth on the 3rd line? Either way, good for Nicklas and Jordan.

I'd rather see Ebbett rot on the 4th line with Weise and Sestito rather than JS anyways.

I think this a good thing.AV obviously won't use him in TOP9 role so there's no reason for letting him play him Sestito and Weise. We want Jordan to be top6 player,a difference maker,so when you take his future development in sight you gotta agree.Jensen is in Chicago,he needs playmaking center and who's better that Jordan for that role.
