sorry if this is not the right place....but could someone tell me whats up with him....looks to me as if he is the odd man out with the Wolves??

He's in the ECHL I'm pretty sure no room on the Wolves for him. Allen is the starter and the Wolves like having a veteran goalie on the team.

It;s too bad aswell because
1) As an Owen Sounder, I watched him be one of the key pieces to our team winning the cup a few seasons ago, so the kid definitely has potential, and
2) He has one of the sickest goalie masks in hockey right now and it is going to waste

I found this thread and thought there's no need to start a new one. Binnington or Winnington deserves his own thread at this point.

Binnington has started 18 games while playing in 20. He's 15-2-1, with a .936 save % and a 1.61 gaa, while tacking on 5 shutouts.

The Blues lost Scott Stevens due to signing Shanahan. They traded Shanahan for Pronger. They traded Pronger for Brewer. They traded Brewer to TB for the 2011 3rd round pick. The 3rd round pick was Binnington.

Stevens is one of my all time favorite players and I wasn't a happy camper when the fiasco went down resulting in the Blues losing him. In the game of hockey things seem to work themselves out most of the time on the ice. Do the Blues finally get a franchise goalie, after suffering through so many and, it's tied directly to the Stevens fiasco?? Is Binnington hockey's way of paying back St. Louis after such a horrible management decision at the time? Probably not but it's funny they are linked.

This type of stuff fascinates me. Trying to understand the origin of where players on your team came from.

It's also crazy how one trade will have a chain affect on other trades.

Like for example, just reading JR's article the other day about the Tkachuk + Perron for Kessel deal that almost went down in like 2009. The Leafs would have never gotten Kessel, the Bruins don't get Seguin, who then would probably never end up on Dallas, etc. Just weird to think about how one move can affect so many different players lives and where they end up, and that's only one example.

I’m still waiting for the day that “mad Binnington” makes an appearance in the pros. Not the one that cries. The one that fights Pheonix Copley, the one that slashes dudes who toe the line too much. I mean this sincerely, I want to see Binny go over the line because it’s going to peeve everybody else off, it’s going to shock the hell out of people who think he’s just a mild-mannered guy, and it will mean we’ve finally found “our guy.” Dudes an animal and I love it. Playoff hockey with Binny will be fun
