It would because we don't have the cap space for him, and bringing him in reduces the amount of movement we can make going forward this season. He won't help us.

To my understanding its still unclear whats going to happen to Pitkänen. He shattered his heel couple years ago, and I think about a year ago it was reported that he still had difficulties putting skates on.

In an article from one finnish tabloid two days ago Pitkänen says its still painful to just walk sometimes, though he has been skating with different junior team occasionally. Might retire, might be able to make comeback to Liiga, maybe even NHL. I think its really difficult to predict whether he will recover.
