The only mistake FLA would be making is if they rushed him into the NHL. Given what Tallon has done in the last week or two, there's no need to do that. He will go back and play for a great coach on a great team.

Having said that, however, you could ask the question if they made a mistake by taking Gudbranson at 3 last year. Maybe Skinner/Johansen + Larsson is better than Huberdeau + Gubrandson...

It wasnt a horrendous pick, but it wasnt exactly a home run either....and im sure if I wasnt lazy I could go back and find lots of picks Conte has bombed on...no ones perfect.

Thats what happens when you pick 20th-25th. Nothings a sure thing, you can't expect a 2nd liner every time.

They needed offense and got arguably the 2nd best offensive forward in the draft, I think that they took exactly who they should've taken given where they picked.
