Between the two native american snipers, Who's a better sniper? will Cheechoo have a better career than Leach? will Cheechoo even break Leach's still unatainable 19 goal playoff performance? Will Cheech surpass Leach's 61 goals in one season record? Who has a better game?

I have a feeling Leach has a better slapshot while Cheech has a better wristshot.

Stats for both players...

Cheechoo has a more well rounded game, but Leach was far better offensively.

Right now you'd have to say the "Riverton Rifle." But he had a lost of low assist seasons. He sniped 61 goals in '76 but only had 30 assists, In '80 he sent home 50 but only 26 assists. A few better seasons and Leach is a Hall of Famer. He won a Cup, Canada Cup, Conn Smythe and was a 2nd team all-star in '76. That all looks nice but he didnt have any big seasons sprinkled around '776, none that made you jump at least.

Anyways its still Leach.

I guess you should never say never, but I don't think Cheechoo will score 61 goals in a season anytime soon. Yes, he got 56 2 years ago, but in more games played. And the 19 goals in the playoffs? I think that one is out of reach, as well.

But with Thornton as his center, maybe he can get to 61 goals.

Leach was the better offensive threat, Cheechoo is maybe the better all-around player. But it's early in his career, so who's to say?

I've never heard "all-around" and "cheechoo" in the same sentence in a non-contrasting form. His skating sucks, he makes dirty hits, and he never plays defense.

However, I think his one timer is one of the best in the game. If he didn't whiff on the feed 75% percent of the time, I think he would have got near his total from last year, where he was just a beast.
