The Vancouver Canucks are pleased to select clutch right winger Ruslan Fedotenko, who will provide them with a steady and reliable third line forward who is a solid clutch goal scorer, as evidenced by his play in this year's playoffs.

The Ottawa Senators are pleased to select left winger Steve Konowalchuk, who will provide them with a reliable third line forward who can play a physical game and provide leadership.

Shoalzie is up!

How many more rounds should we do? Maybe an 8 round mini draft then finish up from there? Have a 23 man roster? That's my pitch, anyways.

The Ducks select right wingers Jonathan Cheechoo and Radek Dvorak. They are hoping to dump any salary they can, so contact them if you're interested in making a deal.

I picked Cheechoo early in the mini-draft...sorry.

The Canucks are pleased to select right winger Jordin Tootoo, who'll provide them with grit, energy and spunk on the fourth line. Undoubtably he will be a valuable commodity down the road, especially as his scoring touch is refined.

The Senators are pleased to select defenseman Brooks Orpik, who'll provide the Senators with a good foundation both now and in the future. He'll bring a stay-at-home, lunch bucket style that will help the Sens keep the puck out of their own net and is a good leader.

The Ducks select defenseman Rhett Warrener to make up for the invalid selection they made. The Ducks lack depth on defense, and Warrener will help them shore up their team in this area. He also brings a lot of grit and leadership, plus an interesting piece of trivia - on his first year with every NHL team he's played on, the team has gone to the finals. The Ducks hope this interesting trend continues.

Wow, JB...I thought my payrolls were pretty high. With 15 players on each of my teams, Detroit is at $37,676,499, Calgary is at $31,770,000, and Dallas is at $29,455,000.

The Stars might be interested in acquiring a player off the cap-riddled Ducks. I'm looking at Sakic, Sundin and Palffy as potential players. Dallas can afford adding another high priced star. I don't know how you want to work a deal...with players only or picks and players. Here is Dallas' roster:

#42 G Robert Esche.....$560,000
#1 G David Aebischer.....$550,000
#6 D Wade Redden.....$4,500,000
#37 D Eric Desjardins.....$4,000,000
#27 D Mathieu Schneider.....$3,750,000
#28 D Robyn Regehr.....$1,250,000
#3 D Marek Zidlicky.....$500,000
#16 F Brett Hull.....$5,000,000
#24 F Sami Kapanen.....$3,000,000
#4 F Vincent Lecavalier.....$2,625,000

Not my fault that the previous GM thought he was running the Rangers... :shakehead

I'll definitely take a closer look at your roster and see if we can't work out a deal.
