There have been some loose rumours/speculations about Omark returning as well. I still believe he's heading to Switzerland though.

Wouldn't the opening post be better if it actually included players that are leaving as well?

Also I, for one, don't see the improvement. The team lost 3/4 top scorers and added a bunch of maybes. Don't get me wrong, Pudas and Schroeder are good players but chances they fully replace Lekhtonen and Regin are slim to none.

Lindbäck is a huge upgrade over Niemi but other than that they haven't really improved. Maybe they have more depth now, especially if Lepistö continues.

Is he better than Kalnins though? And if not, it does nothing to the playoff roster.

Good to hear, thank you for sharing the information. It is always better to co-operate than ignoring Jokerit´s status in the KHL. The first step was the decision of some Finnish authority regarding the blocking of transfers from Jokerit to Liiga. This verbal agreement among Liiga clubs was illegal as we knew since day one.

Sibir not coming to training camp in Finland due to Covid border controls.

Jokerit might be having some issue to clear up before the season begins.

Odds of them in Liiga this year now above zero starting now.

With Russia's health minister commenting that things won't get to normal at least before February and with a Russian Premier League team having 10 cases, I don't see those border restrictions being lifted anytime soon. I just don't see how Jokerit could travel back and forth into Russia nor Russian teams coming here. Riga like the only team that could do it.

I'm not really opposed to Jokerit returning to Liiga for this season but you have to really wonder what kind of repercussions this has long-term. Minsk, Barys, Riga, all could be up in the air with border restrictions. Lordy, this just got interesting.

That wouldn't be possible anymore. Too late to make to arrangements.

Sisäpiirilähteet IL:lle: KHL painostaa Jokereita muuttamaan Venäjälle – tai muuten Jokerit ei pelaa KHL:ssä ollenkaan

Two different sources say Jokerit either won't play in the KHL next season or they're being pressured into playing their games in Russia. Dinamo Riga and Kunlun Red Star have already been notified they'll have to play in Russia (likely in the Moscow area) if they want to play in the league.

For sure the situation remains complicated and may potentially result in the season being canceled, but I find the idea that Iltalehti would have access to unique Russian sources of any seriosity hilarious.

Sasha Huttunen is known to have connections, ever since he was at Jatkoaika. He's fluent in Russian and reported in KHL until they wouldn't give him official creditation anymore for telling the truths about various stuff in the league. Pekka Jalonen had no issue selling his integrity until even he stopped being a mouthpiece. Huttunen and Jalonen even got into a spat on twitter about it some time ago.

Not really. The reason why the leagues put their schedules out so early is because they can. Jokerit would only be problematic because they have the only arena that (in a normal year) would have scheduling conflicts.

This season, not so much.

Of course, they could do the grand tour of Mestis.

Liiga clubs would be getting less tv money for this season so it's not going to happen. Unless Jokerit would play without receiving any of it.

Losing out on €3mm for no TV vs saving €5mm on minimal travel expenses is something they wouldn’t have a problem with.
