Depends totally what kind of tourist you are and what you like in your trips.

Museums? restaurants? bars? partying? shopping? sightseeing? etc.

Helsinki downtown is small so you can get those all in quite packed small area so going from place to another is easy if you just plan everything well.

Also big sea fortress Suomenlinna is only 15 min boat ride away and you can find some "Hobbit homes" there :)

And even a U-Boat

Good sites to start with:

https://beta.myhelsinki.fi/en
http://www.visithelsinki.fi/en

Film Festival: "Love & Anarchy" is going during that time.
http://hiff.fi/en/

Also "International Markets" going at that time at Rautatientori (Next to Railway Station)

Helsinki has nature feeling in many places inside the cityborders and also the real nature is very close: for example closest National Park is just 35km from Helsinki:

Good Helsinki tour guide video with metal flavor :yo: but not only just for metalheads!

Very cool area to eat and drink and close to Kallio district which has tons of bars:

So O'Neill is a 2nd line center now. Explains Palola's and Jensen's signings but seems like a bad idea, doesn't it?

He played as a center last season for a while and was pretty decent. It should be temporary thing though, they're still looking for a 2nd C and O'Neill is more effective as a winger.

Tolvanen has had a good start. A post, 2 cross crease passes for Palola for one timer, looks like he can play at that level otherwise too.

The announcer can't say that Myttynen (from kunlun redstars) is former KalPa player to save his life. Talks about him, even intermission interview, but he can't give credit to KalPa :help:

Pihlström can also play as center so there is options when rolling the lineups.

Kurri said that they want a very good player for the 2nd line c role but havent been able to land one.

Early August and a town called Valkeakoski with population of 21.000 and which is about 146km away from Helsinki sold out their ice hall for the first time with 1396 spectators when Jokerit won Sibir 1-0 :yo:

Thinking about our team's strong Danish influence I remembered this pic when Larsen was still in the team! Boys in atmospheric and old fashioned little Danish cafe/restaurant: Dansk Smorrebrod/Tanskalainen Voileipä Oy at Helsinki in Töölö district:

The center situation is veryyy bad.. Wirtanen will be out for the next 3-4 weeks so that leaves Jokerit with like 2 real centers. One of which is Niemi.

Didn't you also call the team trash in some Tolvanen thread few days ago?

Few weeks ago Kurri said that they were looking for a very good center but werent able to land one. Jokerit isn't the only team in KHL or Europe looking for centers.

Latest addition John Norman's last KHL season stats could have been better but he was still a 42 pts player in SHL plus he can play in center role or a wing.

Gladly Jokerit has quite a lot wingers who can play the center position so I wouldn't call it veryyy bad. For example O'Neill who normally is a winger, is looking quite good in his center role and Pihlström was used as a center in NT.

.............................................................................

Eeli Tolvanen showed his skills already in pre-season games and 3+1 in his first pro game with lethal wristers :yo: Great start so far! I guess he has a place in the team now :D
.............................................................................

And I think Nicklas Jensen will score lot of goals also in KHL.

Well Finnished posted before Jokerit got Norman who is an adequate solution to a 2C role. His season with Torpedo wasn't that bad and could had easily been better. So maybe he is a little bit less than what Jokerit fans hoped for but definitely and adequate solution to the problem.

At the same time, number of wingers being converted to centers in the KHL is through the roof which I find inadequate solution to the problem.

Well the opening game was a positive surprise, certainly wasn't expecting tolvainen to be that deadly shooter. Would keep that line as it is for now. Fans and spectators cant wait for more goals from the team after somewhat "dull" last season and it looks like there is now more firepower at all fronts.

Pre-season was not looking too bright, I thought JJ was starting his walk on a rope as the game was much unchanged from last season but maybe there is hope. SKA will be very tough tho. 10-15 games we will see better where the team is at.

It was also a reply about his post in the Nashville Tolvanen thread after Norman signing:

Jokerit looks like a mess. Need a 2nd line center badly and today they signed a 15 point KHL player (played wing the last 2 years or at least doesnt take many face offs)

Quite a rough visitor tour ahead, game every second day plus travelling. Full player rotation on and rest as much as possible to get some fresh legs. Zapolski has been excellent in both games, prolly going to rest next game tho. First line needs some mixing. Norman will need at least few weeks to adjust, long break from games

Few bookers are a bit surprisingly listing lokomotiv as heavy favorite with 1.78-3.99-3.47 odds. We'll see.

Great! Would Jokerit be able to do that if playing Liiga? Applies to other European/Russian KHL teams too.

I dont know why couldn't they, but also why would they though?

Chinese president has visited finland just few months ago and trade relations have been boosted alot lately between Finland and China. Now a new railroad track that connects Helsinki to Artic sea and Helsinki to Estonia is planned, there would be harbour in ice sea to ship stuff from china to Finland trough arctic area / Russian ice sea coast, and then shipped to europe trough the railroad from arctic - to helsinki - to estonia - to europe. Currently railroads don't go very far in north Finland, new harbor would open new straight ship connection china - finland for trading, and save time for china, they wouldn't have to sail all the way to the mid europe to bring the goods.

China even gifted some Panda bears for Finland! :P
