We would have to trade Monahan. I don't see how else we could make the cap work unless someone takes Wideman.

Calgary would jump at a 7-year contract at $6.75M.

He'll sign 6 year contract which will keep the cap hit down, as it will not include 2 additional UFA years an 8-year contract would entail.

I'm expecting the cap hit to be closer to $7.5M than $6.75M.
