Great accomplishment for him especially considering it's only his first season as an NHL head coach. I hope he has a wonderful experience and best of luck to him and the rest of team USA:D

Yup, very well deserved. I wonder though, could he have received the position without NHL experience? At least, I'd like to believe that'd be the case. He's been a major player in the USA hockey scene and keeps getting praised by players who came up through that.

Good question. I don't really know although I'm sure the NHL experience didn't hurt.

Phil Housley's never been an NHL head coach but he's Phil Housley so...

I grade Hynes a B+ so far this season.

The curious goaltender pulls early in the season plus the continued misuse of defensemen on the PP knock him down from an "A".

^ As if you or I are qualified to know how to utilize the Devils Defensemen.

I think he knows a bit more about what to do than what not in this case. He might see things we don't since he watches them all in practice.

I see where you're coming from but there's no excuse for putting Marc-Andre Gragnani on the first PP unit over Larsson or Severson.
