Shams says the offer is Brandon Knight (currently injured), Marquisse Chris (currently injured), and four 1st round picks.

Those two players do nothing for the Wolves and it's probably safe to assume at least two of those 1st round picks will be late. So the Wolves would really be banking on the Rockets bottoming out a few years down the road if they make this deal.

They could very well bottom out in 2-3 years.

Butler and Dieng to Toronto for JV, Powell and a first round pick.

Raps could probably contend with the GSW with a lineup featuring:

Starting Lineup:
PG- Lowry
SG- Butler
SF- Kawhi
PF- OG
C- Ibaka

Bench:
PG- Vanvleet/Wright
SG- Green
SF- Miles
PF- Siakam
C- Monroe

The starting lineup itself could make up an All-Defensive team while the bench would still be the best in the league. And if Cousins never finds his groove this whole seasons, which is quite possible, then Toronto might beat GSW with that team especially given their depth and defense

This is truly awful for Minnesota.

To trade Butler, Wolves have to fire Thibs first. Thibs knows his days are numbered unless he can overachieve. He doesn't care about 4 1st round picks or any other futures. He'd rather try to grind it out and surprise someone in the playoffs (if they get there) and hope Kat and Wiggins are inspired by Butler's drive.

No, not really imo

One: Butlers trade value has to be quite low at the moment given the fact that he clearly wants out of Minny and all the drama that's gone on between him and the T-Wolves organization.

Two: They get rid of Dieng's horrid contract, while getting a quality player in JV to pair with KAT up front, as well as a young piece in Norman Powell. KAT also gets to permanently move back to PF which is his favorite and most comfortable playing position. In addition, they also get a first rd pick which is always nice to have regardless which team you are

Three: Butler's obviously walking this summer anyways and the Wolves this year aren't gonna win anything anyways so they might as well get something in return for Jimmy Buckets rather than just losing him for nothing in the offseason.

There goes Thibs' idea of just making him play and it'll all be fine.

Minnesota won't trade Butler unless they get good value.

Butler should stop acting like a petulant child and just play the damn game. Teams aren't dying to trade for a crybaby who sits out when things get tough.

Remember when Kawhi made threats unless he ended up in LA or NYC? That worked out really well for him.
