Prospect pool is not deep like it used to be. It's kinda hard to say who to add even at this point, when the player will be close to a top 10 ranking. I think arguments could be made for Suess, Smith, Berdin, Green, Gawanke, Kraskovsky. Based on personal preference you could even have 3rd tier (IMO) guys like Kovacevic, Vallati, Moe, Cederholm, Chrisholm, Bourque, Harkins, Nogier in there somewhere. If we get a single NHL regular out of those 14 names that's probably pretty good.

I'll go with Green to add.
I have Kraskovsky 10-15 spots below the rest of your 2nd group and Cederholm even lower, like near last.

I agree with the rest of the groupings though.

There is Niku and Vesalainen, then a big gap to the next one, whoever people think should be next.

Fairly easy choice on this one. Niku has shown terrific growth and has performed very well against pro competetion the last few seasons.

He has the tools and mind to succeed in the new NHL. I feel fairly confident that his offense and puck moving ability will translate at a decent level in the NHL. Not all that sold on his ability to defend which might limit his upside but am still fairly optimistic that he will be a good second pairing dmen.

Add Green.

is it worth allowing people 2 or 3 votes for each poll for the remaining top 20? probably lead to more reliable results.

I thought Niku-Vesalainen was a toss-up, so I'm perfectly content with Vesa as #1 and Niku as #2.

Add Green.

I agree. Kraskovsky just signed a contract with his KHL team, and may never come to North America. Cederholm has not made too many strides since we drafted him.

List is incorrect. Stallard and Gennaro both had their rights released by the Jets. Also little to no point in including RD Jack Glover and LW Matt Ustaski as both their rights expire on August 15th this year, neither will be signed.

For me...
Samberg
Appleton
Gustafsson
Spacek
...not necessarily in that order.

Add Green.

I think Appleton and possibly Samberg are the 2nd level. There is a fairly big drop off again after them. Lemieux should probably be with them. I keep forgetting him. He seems to have been around so long.

Those are the only ones who currently look like relatively high probability to make the NHL. The next group would all have a chance to move up to that tier by this time next year, if they have good seasons. Spacek, Berdin, Green, Kovacevic, Suess, Gustafsson, Smith, Stanley and Harkins are there, in no particular order.

Then there is the 4th group whose chances are very low of ever making the NHL.

I see the gaps between those tiers as being mostly pretty wide. The last 2 are less distinct and probably have some overlap. But it is only the top 2 tiers that are made up of strong prospects. We could probably separate out a 5th group of players with practically zero chance, but why bother?

Yes, add Green.

That why I left their "status" area (far left) blank as I was unsure. I was also going to include deadlines for qualifying offers which would have addressed Glover & Ustaski (who was signed by the Moose back on July 3rd) but the tedium of cutting & pasting into excel got to me by 5am & technically they are still prospects. Had I not included them someone would have pointed out the reverse of what you did. Here' that reserve list. I included everyone from it other than Telegin & Nikulin.

For the future, does anyone know if an excel spreadsheet (.xls) can be loaded into this site?

Since the outcome of this poll is not in doubt, perhaps get the next one started? Did I mention, add Berdin? :)

I forget what year it was, but after we voted on the top 20, we went to 30...then continued even further.

It's the summer. What else are we going to do?

I'm participating in the voting. But we don't have either the strength or the depth of prospects that we had in the last 2-3 years.

Personally I like the idea of going all the way until we’ve voted on every prospect we have. Getting our top 20 is great, but having a numerical list of every player in the organization is neat.

I personally witnessed Niku play in Montreal when the Jets were visiting Centre Bell. The puck magically always seemed to be where Niku was positioned. Like Gretzky he has above-average positional radar. But I voted Logan Stanley

That's because most of our best prospect are now on the big club. This is a good thing not bad.

Considering how many have made it already the fact that we still have Niku, Ssamberg, and Appleton is very encouraging.
