Right but passing, retrieval and zone entry = line driving. Just FYI. What people mean when they say Wheeler is a good line driver is that he is good at those things.

Yes but it's a secondary function. For best results, prioritize primary functions. That line would have all the drivers it needs without Wheeler and 2nd line would have Wheeler to drive it.

Or Chipman can spend some of his expansion money and make some upgrades to the cooling system. Thought they upgradedd the ice plant back in 2011, sure can’t tell! I’m mean it’s Winnipeg, coldest city in the world with a rink with the worst ice!

Calling it the worst ice might be a bit of hyperbole but it is bad. Especially considering we have built a skilled team - we should have nothing but great ice - always. No excuses.

Paul Maurice doing Paul Maurice things.
Yup,

Maurice things like:
Driving a 114 pt PT season, 3 points shy on the very best to the NHL.
Getting us past the second round for the first time, ever
Getting the respect of the entire team.
Getting both our special teams good for the first time like ever

I like Paul Maurice things

What isn't he? Patrik Laine's agent.

It's obvious teams are plugging up that middle seam pass from Wheeler to Scheif, or to Laine. It's not working right now.

I think the Jet's should use their back end to score now--Trouba, Morrissey, and I really like Myers on the PP.

We need to change up now, and use our back end guys to score.

Blues were pretty hard on Wheeler. Somehow they managed to take away the pass to Laine or to Scheif without allowing anything else to open up. They had 2 men on Wheeler much of the time and yet nothing else worked either. I guess you don't need to cover Laine if you cut off all the passes to him.

I think this is more of an NHL wide problem.
It seems like there is a lot of bad ice out there.

I heard this slogan recently.

"NHL
Best league in the world played on the worst ice."

Not upset with the team. Upset with the result - and with the boring game.
Yep. Not upset, all signs pointed toward a loss. I agree with the law of averages comment somebody made.

I do hope Kompon is doing some doodling though. We need to keep our PP dominant. It's such an important weapon for the team.

Hopefully we crush Philly. They seem to have our number a bit but the boys 'll be hungrier for that one.

Its bound to happen when rinks have to take the ice and put it back in on short turnarounds - but TNSE is required to spend their casino money on the building. It should have an ice plant that could make outdoor ice in Mumbai in a couple of hours.

I really don't know how that has anything to do with my post. I was replying to someone about what happened to the CLL line. Nothing else. Reassembling the ELL IS a Paul Maurice thing to do to. He does lots of other things well, but that wasn't the topic. Maybe you should relax a bit and consider the possibility that I may like many things about Maurice but still dislike some of his decisions (2+ seasons of ELL being on top of that list). And please stop with the jabs at Laine fans, especially when it's uncalled for.

Same end game as those who have said "If Hellebuyck was in we would've lost", or "Maurice is an idiot" after a win.

A 1-0 loss after outplaying the other team doesn't seem like the best time for people to be critical of leaving out a player with 15 points in his NHL career, but multiple people have done that too.
Ok, so you are just like those people you are complaining about, got it.

Maurice isn’t the reason the line has slowed down. So a switch for a period or so isn’t the issue.

Maybe “Laine fans” should stop blindly bashing everything about the team with no base for it. It’s not welcome on this board so you’re welcome to leave please.

I am getting really sick of the Wheeler bashing around here. The guy is one of the very best RW in the NHL and he's our captain. People who love a certain player more than the Jets need to back the **** off. This board is getting unreadable due to people wanting to put the needs of this player before the good of the team.

Yeah, bloody Tanev fans are ruining this board.

I suggest that you read my post history and then tell me how I have been "blindly bashing everything about the team with no base for it". I'm not expecting an excuse, but you might want to change your tone a bit. Tell me, do I count as a real Jets fan when I have seen almost every Jets game for 2+ seasons (which is the only reason I pay for my premium sports package), despite of a timedifference of 6 h meaning late nights or early mornings (and looking like a zombie at work), know the entire roster + keeping an eye on their farm players? Or do I need a Canadian citizenship, be a resident of Winnipeg and be a season ticket holder for my passion to count?

Matty's a bit pricey at this point - as noted by several, he's lost a lot of his offensive game.
I love Matty but he's one of the guys I see as a must move for next season - but moving that contract won't be easy.

I agree Lefty -- it won't be easy moving Perrault's contract. He's paid to much money for what he delivers. Likely the Jet's would have to retain some salary to move him.

Q: You're speaking for everyone?
A: No, you're not. The so-called bashers are sometimes right, sometimes wrong. The same holds true for the other side. All of it is welcome by someone.

1> I am also a Laine fan.
2> This is the WINNIPEG JETS forum
3> When I feel people are putting a player, ANY PLAYER above team I will call it out.
