Guessing he means RNH doesn't need to be resigned this summer as he's not a UFA (one more season after this one left on his current deal).
At least that's how I understood it.
I hope so... Ennis is an ‘89 IIRC, if you wanted to sign him for 3 years, you could probably get him on a $1-1.5mm deal. 3 years of guaranteed income after taking 1-year deals just to stay in the league is a pretty decent incentive. That extra money could then be used for a small RNH raise and 3C.

We already paid Kassian to be McDavid’s winger, we don’t need to pay others for that privilege as well.

Taking a couple of fellows who flew in from Winnipeg to the game. Should be a lot of fun tonight, Edm and Wpg games are usually pretty good. Need a win desperately tonight. No excuses as Winnipeg is just as banged up as we are.

Next season, Holland has an easy offseason. Resign Tennis. Resign bear, resign Nuge. Find ONE 3C. Done.

AA McDavid Ennis
RNH Draisaitl Yama
Neal - 3C - Kassian
Nygård Sheahan Archibald

And yeah, get rid of some junk like Khaira, Chiasson, Prussell, Puljujärvi, and trade one of Russell, Benning maybe,

ONE spot is left. ANd maybe Haas finds his way with the new team. Then nothing more needs to be done.

Ummm.....about the goal tending....

Think all GDTs to the end of the season can be pre-printed to say, "biggest game of the year....must win game...".
This being Leap Year Day, we can expect odd things to happen in the game, such as defencemen scoring, scoring on breakaways and empty nets, Yams hammering Wheeler, Oilers scoring the first goal, Kass being mentioned in the Lady Byng nominations, etc. You'll want to PVR this for future reference.

Hope they aren’t rushing yam back but I’m excited to see him back in the lineup, we have missed him. Hopefully kassian can keep his emotions in check and dial it in because he can be a valuable player for us heading down the stretch. Looking forward to seeing what a healthier roster can do. What’s all this talk about Russell being a game time decision now too?
Any official word on lineups tonight or are we still playing it by ear?

Oilers have played 5 games on Feb 29th, and only won 1. Odds are in our favor...

Oilers in a dogfight again. Lose this game in Regulation and its right on the brink.

As suggested the influx of new players can be distracting, and can interrupt the way the club plays.

The Oilers have been badly beaten, and beat down, in several of the recent games. Last 5 games have been pretty concerning. The Oilers have lost 4/5 of these games and 3 of them were against clubs out of the playoffs. 2 of the games were against some of the league worst clubs.

On a recent 3 game roadtrip that was deemed "guaranteed wins" by the OP pundits on this board we won 1, barely, against the sold out shell of the LA Kings, a team missing Jeff Carter and almost anybody you remember from that team. A Kings team that has only 5 players left from their last cup win.

the only game I found concerning was the Minny game.
Good effort against Vegas, but hit a few posts and generally unlucky.
that's how it goes sometimes.

Vegas hit a couple posts as well and ran us out of the rink. Score could've been around 7-2 Vegas.

We got physically run out of the rink by Vegas, Minny, and the lowly ducks. Brutalized by those teams physically.

Not only were those games physically no contests before the Minny game Greenway is taunting Nurse and the Oilers because he knows he can, that the Oilers have no way to match physicality. We're back to being that team, even with Kassian in the lineup, and Kass can't even manage to hurt Tkachuk in a fight. We suddenly have literally nobody that can stand up and be physical. Somewhere along the line were back to being a club getting sand kicked in our face.

Whens the last game in which we physically dominated? Can't remember.

Heres the problem with this team physically;

Nurse: can't get involved physically because the team needs him to play minutes

Kass; Idiot.

Larsson: Missing in action

Khaira: Not good enough to play minutes and missing in action.

We have nobody that is useful that is an intimidating player of physical presence. We hardly have anybody that bangs.

We came out strong against Vegas in the first and pretty much dominated, it didn't go our way and momentum shifted.
Greenway and Nurse? Darnell had no reason to to revisit that...

Hopefully thr lines on the first page are what we see tonight. Excited to see that and get some regulars back in the lineup. The team will get a good boost.

Big W coming up tonight. I feel it!
