Again posters have to be patient, just cause someone produces more now doesn’t mean they will in the future. It takes years before you know who was the best in a given draft class.

This is the stats from the 2011 draft class in their D+3 draft year (2013-14). Who would posters take based on these stats:

Player A 81 games 23 g 36 a 59 p
Player B 78 games 19 g 28 a 47 p
Player C 80 games 20 g 19 a 39 p
Player D 82 games 13 g 26 a 39 p
Player E 63 games 13 g 21 a 34 p
Player F 69 games 9 g 19 a 28 p
Player G 52 games 9 g 9 a 18 p

Player A - Palat
Player B - Saad
Player C - Shaw
Player D - Couturier
Player E - Sheifele
Player F - Huberdeau
Player G - Kucherov

That's called stats watching. And nobody does that in order to make a real assessment on a player.

JK with Evans and Perry. Yep. We clearly want him to succeed offensively....lol. Stupidly and insanely brought in WAY too soon. That's not how you handle a freakin project. And once you do a stupidity, you add ANOTHER stupidity right now by using him with a guy who's about to retire and a guy who is still not a NHL'er.

His skating technique is awful though and needs a lot of work. He needs more agility. Will he be a number 1 C? I don't believe it. Still on par to be a good No2.

I hate it. I am one of those fans who watching others teams playing. I remember scheiffle and Barkov at their beginning of their carreer. Barkov were big and playmaker. Scheiffle fast and lanky. They were not really big producer. But i remember i said: « who this player? He is really good. Nice flash. Nice play by him. ». Maybe they lacked of consistency. But eye test showed something else

Dew drops and rainforest
He needs to physically engage himself as he did early in the season. That will lead to more involved puck play and more offense.

He's fighting with the puck on his stick instead of playing smooth. In his case especially, slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

I've been a big believer in him, but he's got to be better.

Lars Eller seems like a reach potential wise at this point. At least Eller could use his body.

I genuinely wonder if you held the same opinion for Poehling last year, when at this age he didn't look like he could even handle an AHL shift.

Poehling is looking great in the AHL, totally agree. At 21 years old, I don’t see him better than a 3rd line center which is good for a 25oa pick.

Poehling always had great traits. Those were always evident.

So did De La Rose by those standards, but at least he looked like he knew where to be on the ice. You could have cut a chickens head, threw skates on the carcass and drew where it went, it would've looked like how Poehling played. He was thankfully left alone this year, but can't imagine what going another 30 games not scoring or even getting an assist would have done to his game. He's finally reaching ppg in the AHL, KK did that two years younger. So maybe management doesn't know what the hell it's doing.

He needs to improve his skating, lower body strength and conditioning, I’m going to hold off on criticizing or predicting his career until then. That’s the most important thing and I hope the Canadiens are helping with that
