My proposal is as above, I thought about proposing this for Future Considerations, but thought we could do a little add and give up Derrick Pouliot or Ben Hutton.......revised

Terrible for Montreal. Also petry wants to play for a team near his home of michigan so he wouldn't accept this trade. Another thing, the habs have a ton of cap space so they don't need to trade him for cap.

Petry is our best defenseman with Weber out and is getting paid what he's worth

If a team is moving a player for cap reason, it doesn't make much sense to retain $1.65M/year for the next three years. If the replacement has a cap hit of $3.85M you haven't made any cap savings.
