Jeff Gorton, Most Productive GM of last Decade?

I say this mostly tongue in cheek as the draft was mostly prepped before his time by scouts, but he still had to pull the trigger on them. In the four months he was GM here in 2006 he acquired a lot of talent. He drafted Phil Kessel (1), Milan Lucic (2), Brad Marchand (3) as well as trading Andrew Raycroft straight up for Tuukka Rask.

Anyways, just found this interesting, that was a great draft for the B's, and 2011 doesn't happen without it.

If you don't think he was heavily influenced by Chiarelli for some of that, you are gullible. They can't admit it, but it's almost a guarantee that Chiarelli made the decisions.

Chiarelli was still working for Ottawa at the time of the draft. He was at the Sens table as they were making choices. You think he was the one who sent the scouts out to see those players in the regular season, before he even knew he was going to be offered the job as well... Chia the Jedi.
