Jayden Struble: 2019 NHL Draft Honourable Mention
Who was the one who really wanted Struble?
Don’t know him
So is he really going to the BCHL or did he fast track finally to get to NCAA?
He is already looking to be this year's Romanov or this year's Staum.
Not a terrible pick but not who I expected.
When it comes to drafting defensemen in the 2rd round, Timmins is king so I guess we'll see.
2019 NHL Draft prospect profile: Jayden Struble could be worth waiting for
Sounds like a guy with great tools who maybe slid because of the quality of competition. On the other hand, maybe he looked better than he is for the same reason. Always reticent about guys from the US highschool system, but he's really young and it'll be a few years before we see what we've got here.
Hopefully, good coaching will help him improve his hockey sense, as right now his positioning/decisions on the ice are awful.
Great tools but no toolbox as of now.
Huge boom/bust. I love it
He was dominant at the combine... tremendous strength and endurance.
STEAL!! Kid looks like Subban with better hands.
He will play in the bchl
That alone deserves a headshake
Guy is a gym rat and a phenomenal athlete. I can see why Timmins liked him. Sounds like a project player going the NCAA route, so hopefully the additional development time will shape him into a solid player.
He is very young. And he wants to play in College afterwards.
Lol you’ll regret that headshake. Kid is a huge steal. The way he drives offense, lateral movement and speed is unreal. He defends well with his stick and is physical. Wouldn’t be surprise if he’s the second beat lhd in the draft.
He’s not even going to the NCAA next year... WTF
Like him. Plays physical. Good skater. Has offensive skill.
I don't like that he's playing BCHL next year. He played prep this year. Then BCHL then NCAA? We're not seeing this kid for at least 4 years. That kind of development path is usually for mid-rounders.
Quick question: when has a player from the combine who dominated physically worked out?
I'm fine with the Struble pick, I'll trust our scouting on this one. Another LHD going to Northeastern, he seems to have higher upside than Harris as well. He aced the combine, but I'm sure many of you will point to that as a flaw.
Picked too early.... better options that were still available.
Really nice skating.
