European houses in the mountain region, or even in US have those top level ceilings.

So may I ask what point are you trying to make here?

I asked if he was speaking from his attic, not a commentary about Ceilings in Homes, you know.... o_O

(My comment regarding the ceiling is to illustrate that he might be speaking from the attic 'cause most homes are shaped like that towards the roof)

Any chance to fix spelling of his name in the thread heading?

Looks like he isn't on the lineup for Czech Republic today against Canada.

Any update?

What is up with this recent #99 pick?

I remember seeing his draft profile when we took him and I was certainly excited at the prospect he was. Checking his numbers is a bit startling; but is there good reason for this?

Is this just a young guy being moved over from Finland to Cezchia and losing confidence? Or has his game and progression stalled?

European prospect are so hard to understand, stat-wise, and thats especially true when they are switching teams/leagues as well

Pytlik's trajectory was at a high entering last year's WJC, when he was playing a great two-way power game and displaying some impressive playmaking skill. Unfortunately, he suffered a major injury and hasn't yet bounced back to display any legitimate offensive production. At this point, he is certainly still a prospect, but I think you're hoping his future is as a big-bodied 4C. This would be fine for a 4th round pick, but we still have to hope he comes back next year with a vengeance and ups his development curve to a place where we can pinpoint his ceiling as slightly higher.

I had no idea he suffered a serious injury. Thats sure to set anyone back.

And just taking a quick look.. but playing on what seems to be six different teams in a three-year span across about 10,000km+ Distance between his own team, then add travel and all of this during covid and youre only 20?

Well f***, I can certainly see why he was having issues. Hopefully he can find himself some stability this next coming season and work on a foundation, hopefully not be moved again for the year.

He had a bad year. It’s hard to say exactly why without knowing any details.

He barely played any games in 20-21, 4 GP played in the Czechia2 league and 8 GP with his National team before he got injured.

That’s a tough year at age 19. Liiga, especially as an outsider, was likely too ambitious but the potential money and prestige is tough to turn down.

Joining the second worst Czechia Extraliga team midseason was better than nothing and at least he played a lot.

Maybe the Devils take a flyer on his potential, maybe they don’t.

Is that worth signing him to an ELC before June 1?
