In the minny vs edmonton game yesterday i was very impressed with local boy Jared Spurgeon. I grew up with him and Ennis and was always blown away at how small they were but just some how continued to succeed in hockey. There was an interesting read on him in the paper today. Any minnesota fans care to share their thoughts? He looked great on the pp and very impressive first pass...

He's meh. Makes some subtle plays, but really isn't all that special.

Isn't it odd how him and Tyler Ennis grew up on the same block together and they both went on to become sub- 5'9" hockey players in the NHL. What are the odds?

Pointless in 18 games? Yep, that's impressive right there.

    Mostly just a fun jab.

It's always impressive when a young defenseman can make it into the NHL at such a young age. Even more impressive when he is under 5'10. For a defender that is extremely small.

very smart player, well poised, and doesn't let his size prevent him from being effective.
