So a team that has what many of you claim/admit has one of the deepest forward groups in the NHL. And a team that has AT LEAST 3 promising offensive rookies with "nowhere to fit" because of said offensive depth, and pretty much expects all of its players besides 2 guys to provide offense, needs its 12 or 13th forward to provide MORE offense? It doesn't matter what your opinion is, either on the type of role you think Boll plays or what he's capable of on the ice (either fighting or playing hockey), or what your opinion is on that type of role in general. It really doesn't. Why? Because he has been and IS playing that role on the Columbus Blue Jackets perfectly fine. The amount of goals and points or total offensive impact he brings isn't worth 1.7 mil in cap. Its not ****ing supposed to be. The total overall impact he brings on the ice is totally worth 1.7. I'd also argue that he probably has a way bigger impact on the room that what most people think. Both just in general and compared to past or "more recent" past "room leaders"...

All over less than 2 million dollars in CAP? What could we even do with that extra 1.7?

When he's on the ice. Remember, when mostly healthy, he was scratched more often than not down the stretch. So they're paying him quite a bit more per game than $1.7 over 82 games.

That extra $1.7 added to the ~$3 million in cap space we have now? Probably sign a pretty good Dman FA.
