Only posting in here because that shot of the goalie is utterly hilarious...

Just curious. If you're going with a guy who seemingly lacks NHL speed, why hasn't Cehlarik been given a shot? Is he struggling in Providence? Maybe Kovar's outplaying him or showcasing more? I don't get to follow much of Providence.

Tonight’s game had to help his chances of being signed... Cave looks like a 4th line center which isn’t a knock on him. They need another offense minded center.

The offence is so dry right now that giving a guy like Kovar a shot would make a lot of sense.

But they are playing well defensively. He is a TEAM LEADING MINUS 11 in the AHL in 12 games played, while putting up a dozen points too. That means he's been horrible in his end.

He's likely looking for the same type of deal be for from the Isles
Why do you think so? I think he had more options when he got the deal from the Isles. He agreed to PTO in AHL, so I would assume, that at this point he just wants to play in NHL.

You could be right. But I get the feeling that they're interested in the player enough that if he could definitely be had on the cheap for 1 year, they'd have done it already.

I am inclined to agree with you, especially after no solid 3c emerged in the early season and even more especially after Bergeron went down.

Why not try Cehlarik, Zach, Fitz, Blidth first? Not liking the idea of having another turtle join the team.
I think because Kovar is a center.

Agree with you about the other guys needing to get some time w big club but what four players are you sitting? Or just one at a time?

Sign him and put him with Krejci please
If he isn’t the fastest skater this is where I hope he goes. Makes more sense to me to put him on wing where his speed won’t be relied on, plus it gives that line a savvy player who can hopefully put up some points.

At this point, unless he's asking for some kind of ridiculous contract, just give him a shot. He's a bigger body, he plays with some edge to his game. Maybe he can't cut it in the NHL, but if he works out, the team has one less hole to fill.

Doubt they sign him. Stempniak the ‘safer’ option if they decide to go down that road.

Agreed. I’m actually in the camp that hopes they don’t sign him. If it’s one-year $1m then that’s fine, but I wouldn’t go any higher. Hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t see him making an impact in the NHL.

what about Stempniak? Push him out in replacement of Acciari or maybe give Heinen a game or two upstairs just to clear his mind.

According to czech newspapers Kovar is not going to be signed. Bruins prefer to give a chance to youth.
