I think Benn would be a nice fit in Calgary....although I hope Jim Nill would get a better return for him than those two.

Whether or not Benn would want to play there, that's another story.

hahaha, I was going by the reports that Benn is a third liner now, aim low. Would be interesting to see what Benn gets, not too many teams could absorb his cap hit but he still is the 'power forward' that some GMs would overpay for.

Like how Calgary overpaid for Lucic, I guess.

Or Nashville with Wayne Simmonds.

I imagine Benn would fall into that category as well if the decision was ever made to part ways. And I honestly could see him end up on a Canadian team, even if he's not usually one for the spotlight.

Yeah, I am honestly not sure which way it would go for a trade but the Flames will happily give you Lucic hahaha

Lucic and Seguin reunited after all these years? Might be fun to see.

Not a huge fan of Looch's contract but Benn's isn't much better (if at all).

I bet Jordie could talk him into it.

I wonder what Montreal would offer up for him though.

Dallas needs speed on their bottom 6.

I’d say Byron + 2nd + Alzner to balance a bit the salary (still saves 2M for Dallas). Byron can play anywhere in the lineup, awesome pker, top 5/10 fastest player in the league & good for 20g/year.

I’d take the gamble. Put Benn as our 2LW, move Lehkonen to 2RW (currently 2LW) until Suzuki/Caufield grabs the spot.

If Dallas was trying to spread the scoring out then Benn would be on the 1st line lmao

Contracts a pretty much equal
Pittsburgh:
Shultz is 100% not with Pittsburgh next season
When Geno comes, no room for Bjugstad

Dallas:
rids themselves of Benns contract with no retention
They get a top 4 puck moving RD

I’d do this. Longterm cap seems bad for Pittsburgh, though.

Not bad, depending on which prospect you're looking for.
