Taillon has elbow surgery, to miss 2020 season

Jameson Taillon is going to miss all of the 2020 season -- not just the rest of this one -- after needing a second Tommy John surgery, the Pirates announced Thursday.

The Pittsburgh right-hander underwent flexor tendon repair surgery on Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. That injury was already going to force him to miss the rest of 2019. During the surgery, it was determined that Taillon also needed to have UCL revision surgery. He had that surgery on Tuesday, too, with both procedures performed by Dr. David Altchek.

Taillon is expected to make a full recovery for the 2021 season.

Very sad to see this. He'll probably never live up to the hype.

Pittsburgh and pitchers, man...

Remember the Cole-Taillon-Glasnow hype? And then amazingly Cole and Glasnow turn into those stud aces on other teams after getting fleeced in trades.

I don’t like Pittsburgh and Clint Hurdle but you gotta feel a little bad
