Which player would you rather have in his prime?
Went for Hartnell because of his peak. He was a monster in 2012 and was easily the best season either of them had.
I’m assuming JVR’s prime was last season, I’m taking Scotty, intangibles and he had that grit while putting up similar numbers
Hartnell for me.
I got Hartnell in this.
I am bias as I really liked him.
But, his goal scoring doesn't really pale in comparison and he brought more to the table.
Hartnell fairly easily
How is this close, lol? The Briere line was just lethal for Philly when they were contending and Hartnell's power game was integral to it's success. OTOH, even Toronto fans wanted JVR out last season and I can see why.
Yup, results are off
Hartnell would beat the **** out of him
Hartnell at his peak was so much more well-rounded as a player. Brought all sorts of different things to the table. Whereas JVR is pretty much the textbook example of a 1-dimensional goal-scorer. It's a good dimension to have, but Hartnell had that...and was also tougher, more physical, a better passer, and a better two-way player.
JVR because theres still a chance he can win the cup.
