It's Leivo not Lievo -- and I'm not sure that he wouldn't benefit more from playing top six minutes with the Marlies than playing fourth line minutes with the Leafs.

Toronto has moved to a place where they now ice the best lineup possible. They are no longer in development mode.

This.

The time is now. IMO, they are amongst the elite, or at the very least just a piece away from the elite teams (Stl/Chi/Bos/Pit/LA), and have surplus assets to trade to get there (defense and goal, perhaps). The top six has two pairings that give opposing defenders fits, in JVR-Kessel aka "van Kesseldyk" and then Lupul-Kadri aka "Kadruple". The supporting cast is very respectable in Clarkson, Bolland, Kulemin and Raymond. Frattin, Grabo and MacAurthur were also a great supporting cast, but they seemed to lack in grit and leadership. Defense is as deep as its been in years. Gone are the days of employing defensive question marks like Komisarek, Schenn and Kostka. Instead, we have better talent in Fraser, Gardiner and Reilly. And goaltending is as solid as ever, with Scrivens gone and Bernier in.

Put the talent out there, regardless of age, and squeeze that sponge dry. Go for gold.

I hope he's alright.

Reims doesn't need another knock to the head. Hopefully, his leaving is a precaution. Man are we getting hit by injuries early. Need bodies back. Let's win this next one. Many cheers and get better James!

Great news on James...love this kid's attitude and commitment.

Glad to hear he is skating. The kid has been a total professional throughout this whole thing. Everyone had written him off and then he stands on his head the next chance he gets. Says a lot about his character. Get well James! As far as Bernier's gaffe the other night...that play could happen 100 times more and not go in each time. TOTAL fluke. Put it behind us. The next 3 games will prove how good this team's character is.

Just personal opinion, but knowing he doesn't want to lose any additional playing time to Bernier, you've got to protect him from himself. Nature of a hockey player is to get the hell back on the ice as soon as the stitches are in, not when the wound is healed, figuratively speaking.
