Final mock update before draft day, will try and include projection or outlook for each first-round pick.

#1. :rangersselect Alexis Lafreniere, LW, Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL)

Outlook:
Potential top-line winger who can drive a line and contribute 80-90 points a season; will most likely make immediate NHL impact

#2. :kings select Quinton Byfield, C, Sudbury Wolves (OHL)

Outlook:
Elite two-way centre with well-rounded game, hulking frame and 80-90 point potential; an extra year of seasoning and dominance in the OHL could set him up for long-term success

#3. :sens (SJS) select Tim Stutzle, C/LW, Adler Mannheim (DEL)

Outlook:
First-line combo forward with an elite transition and PP game and enough defensive chops to handle centre duties in the NHL; among the best playmaking vision in the draft class

#4. :wings select Cole Perfetti, C/RW, Saginaw Spirit (OHL)

Outlook:
Perfetti offers blue-chip offensive talent and gamebreaking ability, as well as elite hockey IQ and vision. Could use some work on his top-end speed and stride form and projects better on the wing in my eyes, but an exciting piece for DET and an offensive leader for Canada at 2021 WJC

#5. :sens select Jamie Drysdale, D, Erie Otters (OHL)

Outlook:
Offensively-focused first-pairing defender, elite four-way mobility and best edgework among d-men in the class. Struggles with net-front coverage and physical battles, but his smarts and confidence with the puck are elite tools

#6. :ducks2 select Lucas Raymond, RW, Frolunda (SHL)

Outlook:
Dynamic offensive threat; elite playmaker and skater who can make skilled moves at top speed, big impact as transition carrier and ability to score both outside and inside the slot area

#7. :devils select Marco Rossi, C, Ottawa 67's (OHL)

Outlook:
Rossi's dynamic two-way abilities and puckhandling abilities in the offensive zone give NJ a true blue-chip centre prospect. Great value here, potential 60-80 point centre with significant contribution on the PP; could probably fill an NHL role next season

#8. :sabres select Jake Sanderson, D, USNTDP U-18 (USHL)

Outlook:
May seem high for Sanderson, but his stellar second half has him neck and neck with Drysdale. Smooth skating ability, promising defensive instincts and physical edge, and improving puck control add up to big two-way potential. Could opt for secondary scoring (Lundell, Holtz), but Sanderson makes a nice #2 behind Dahlin

#9. :wildselect Anton Lundell, C, HIFK (Liiga)

Outlook:
Physical, mature two-way forward with great possession stats and strong two-way awareness. Limited offensive creativity, but has solid hands for his size and could be quick to the NHL thanks to contributions in all situations

#10. :jetsselect Alexander Holtz, RW, Djugardens (SHL)

Outlook:
A true offensive threat with good puck skills and an elite shot. Doesn't offer much value on the defensive end, but he's an outside shooting threat and potential 30-40 goal scorer who could use some seasoning in his two-way game before reaching the NHL

#11. :nashville select Jack Quinn, RW, Ottawa 67's (OHL)

Outlook:
Led draft-eligibles in goals despite playing away from Marco Rossi at even strength. Relatively polished defensive skills, a wicked shot, and an uncanny knack for finding soft ice in high-danger areas; promising growth curve as a late birthday and has 30 goal potential

#12. :panthers select Kaiden Guhle, D, Prince Albert Raiders (WHL)

Outlook:
Wouldn't have Guhle this high personally, but his size/skating combination is promising, and he brings a physical bite the first two defenders off the board lacked at a position FLA needs depth (LD). Makes sound defensive reads and has a bomb of a shot, but puckhandling and composure must improve

#13. :canes (TOR) select Seth Jarvis, RW, Portland Winterhawks (WHL)

Outlook:
Carolina could use an injection of elite offensive talent into their prospect pool; Jarvis has a full offensive toolbox and plays bigger than his size thanks to his high awareness and great edgework. Showed he can lead an offense this year and has the versatility to contribute on special teams in a big way.

#14. :edmontonselect Yaroslav Askarov, G, SKA St. Petersburg (KHL)

Outlook:
EDM would love a winger for McDavid here, but with no current G of the future, opts for Askarov. Elite athleticism and competitiveness, makes highlight-reel saves look routine. Has been a standout at multiple international tournaments, he could go even higher.

#15. :leafs (PIT) select Rodion Amirov, LW, Salavat Ufa (KHL)

Outlook:
Well-rounded winger who can adapt his style to excel in a skill-based role or a checking one. Plays a fast-paced, efficient offensive game and takes care of his own end. Lacks elite top-end speed but has great agility and the strength to excel on the offensive cycle; TOR has shown an affinity for high IQ players recently

#16. :habsselect Dawson Mercer, C/RW, Chicoutimi Sagueneens (QMJHL)

Outlook:
Outstanding puckhandling abilities allow him to get to high-danger areas and drive offense. Average vision, more of a shoot-first player who could be an excellent complementary player on a scoring line due to his tenacity on the puck and finishing ability in traffic

#17. :hawks (VAN) select Dylan Holloway, LW, University of Wisconsin (NCAA)

Outlook:
Powerful skater who shows advanced strength for his age and confidence driving the puck to the net. High motor on the forecheck, and isn't afraid to use his size or physicality. Quick hands and a great shot, could be an NHL contributor in short order.

#18. :devils(ARI) select Connor Zary, C, Kamloops Blazers (WHL)

Outlook: Great stickhandler and good strength on the puck, he can contribute on the PP, and plays a solid defensive game for a young C. Easy to see him sticking down the middle and could be quick to the NHL if he works on his skating

#19. :flames select Mavrik Bourque, C, Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL)

Outlook:
Speedy and smart buzzsaw who possesses solid playmaking instincts and a great nose for the net. Natural goal-scorer and is creative with the puck. Inconsistent production and commitment to defense put his long-term position in question, but has high-end talent

#20. :devils(VAN) select Braden Schneider, D, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL)

Outlook: Smooth-skating defender with great strength who shows advanced defensive instincts and physical presence along the boards. Top speed is lacking but edgework is strong and he makes a great first pass. Heady defense-first player who might be quick to the NHL but ceiling is probably second-pairing

#21. :cbjselect Tyson Foerster, C, Barrie Colts (OHL)

Outlook: Late riser who proved to be one of OHL's best snipers without great supporting cast. Good size and puck protection skills, has a knack for finding open ice in offensive zone. Played huge minutes in all situations and should stick at C long-term. Skating stride is too upright and offensive consistency must improve

#22. :rangers(CAR) select Hendrix Lapierre, C, Chicoutimi Sagueneens (QMJHL)

Outlook: NYR can afford to take a home run swing with multiple 1sts, and Lapierre has the highest skill level left. Injury woes in both Q seasons, but Lapierre has elite awareness and skill and acquitted himself very well in peer-on-peer tournaments. High-risk, high-reward C with top-six potential

#23. :flyersselect Noel Gunler, RW, Lulea HF (SHL)

Outlook:
Big-bodied sniper who moves very well for his size and possesses a lethal release on his snapshot. Questions about exclusion from international teams and commitment to the defensive end drop him, but his soft hands and nose for the net will translate t

#24. :avs select Helge Grans, RD, Malmo Redhawks (SHL)

Outlook:
Swift-skating RD with a huge frame still filling out, Grans showed great progress throughout the year and good smarts at both ends of the ice. He is aggressive in transition and moves the puck well, but is still developing on defense, including physical strength and decision-making under pressure

#25. :capsselect Lukas Reichel, RW, Eisbaren Berlin (DEL)

Outlook:
Well-rounded winger who can fly; shows good agility and puck control in transition opportunities. Good wrist shot and showed well against pros in DEL, earning larger role as season went on. Looks like a future strong complementary winger

#26. :blues(TBL) select Jacob Perreault, C/RW, Sarnia Sting (OHL)

Outlook:
Great offensive tools, including one of the best shots in the draft, and shows quick hands and consistent shot generation. Negative defensive player whose effort wavers and doesn't drive play well by himself. PP value and NHL bloodlines boost him here

#27. :ducks(BOS) select John-Jason Peterka, LW, EHC Munchen (DEL)

Outlook:
Powerful winger who can make plays at speed and goes to the net hard; shows combo forward potential with potential to fill in at C, tenacity in offensive end and further development of defensive awareness could make him top-six forward

#28. :sens(via NYI) select Jan Mysak, C/LW, Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL)

Outlook:
Well-rounded forward whose stride is a bit wonky, affecting his acceleration, but is an above-average skater with good balance overall. Advanced defensively, with ability to contribute on PK, and can play role of finisher or initiator on offense. Middle-six upside but could be quick to the NHL

#29. :vegasselect William Wallinder, D, MODO Hockey (Allsvenskan)

Outlook:
Project defender with a huge frame and top-end skating abilities; great agility for his size and decent passing vision from the back end. Defends one-on-one well with his long reach but his d-zone coverage is spotty. Massive ceiling, but will require attention and development

#30. :starsselect Brendan Brisson, C, Chicago Steel (USHL)

Outlook:
Solid skater with great balance and edges but lacking an explosive top speed. Elite playmaker but a bit too passive at times on offensive possessions. Decent reads in defensive zone, but can shy away from contact and needs more consistency there to avoid moving to W. Slick hands and top-nine ceiling

#31. :sharks(TBL) select Marat Khusnutdinov, C, SKA St. Petersburg (MHL)

Outlook:
Undersized, but possesses a great motor and is aggressive on the puck in all three zones, no doubt about ability to stay at C. Dynamic skater and flashes impressive playmaking vision and puck skills; potential top-six C but needs to become more consistent to reach ceiling - worthy risk for SJS

If the Sabres take a defenseman there will be riots in the streets.

I don't think there is a way the Devils go two centers in the first round. They already have Hischier-Hughes-Zacha all 23 and under as their centers of the future and have an extremely pressing need for wingers to play with them with another pressing need for defense. Though, I'm pretty sure Fitzgerald has even come out and said it is a much stronger draft for forwards than defenseman, so I'm honestly anticipating they could even take all forwards if they miss out on Sanderson/Drysdale at 7. So, if they do go Rossi 7 (which I hope they don't) or really any player, I would anticipate some combo of Gunler, Reichel, Perreault, Peterka, and Mysak, who are the top wingers left at that spot.
