Luckily we still have two top pairing LHD and another top 4 LHD in Dermott who is ready to play more.

Obviously losing Gardiner for any length of time will hurt but we have the personnel to not notice it much as Muzzin, Rielly, and Dermott can take those minutes.

That would be a crazy development. Gardiner's UFA value would drop off the table. The Leafs' left side would now be sorted out by default: Rielly, Dermott, Muzzin. Right side: Hainsey, Zaitsev, Ozhiganov.

Been hearing good things about Rosen. Great opportunity for him to be hero and save the GM's rep if Gards is out for the playoffs.
He didn’t look good in the show but this season has REALLY helped him grow accustomed to the NA ice

Good and bad news

Dubas failed so bad not adding depth at the deadline. Huge fail

Gardiner sucks so won’t be huge loss but we have nobody to replace him

This is why we go and get the best defenceman available, regardless of what way he shoots. Now Muzzin can slot in very nicely on that 2nd Pairing

Rielly speaking (to Kristen Shilton) earlier today in regards to Gardiner not playing tonight: "Down the stretch, good teams need [depth]. We’ll have to see what happens, but that might be tested"

Lupul island? Does that make sense?

No.

It refers to a player under a long term contract (Lupul and Robidas) who are questionable to play so the GM makes them disappear. Their career is done, but they wont retire because of the money they are still owed.

Gardiner is an upcoming UFA and is going to sign a new contract this summer somewhere and play a bunch more hockey. He can still play.

It isnt simply an injured player.

Well for all the Gardiner fanboys out there, I would rather have OZ than a junk helping other team with perfect passes on their sticks. Just get rid off this bum already, he should have been dealt the moment we got Muzzin.
