If he scores a goal today he will tie Mario. That is awesome. Two players who played side by side in the early 90's. I have no idea how long I will have to wait for another player to have this many goals.

Just remembered Selanne is up there to. The Finnish flash!

He tied Mario AND Howe tonight for GWGs.

This guy...he is amazing.

Where is that GIF with Jagr thanking Brodeur after a victory?

I'm just happy Jagr survived that hit late in the 2nd period. That looked bad bad bad, but thankfully he literally HOPPED over the boards and onto the bench and completed a shift about a minute later during the McFlurry Minute!

Congrats to Jagr finally tying Mario.

big night for Jagr.

It was the seventh anniversary of the night Jagr broke Jari Kurri's NHL record for goals by a European-born player. .

I swear I was laughing my butt off when I heard the PA announcer mention the McFlurry Minute.

I'm wondering what Steve and Chico thought of it when they heard it? I bet they were like WTF or something.

I also wonder if Chico went and bought a McFlurry after the game? :sarcasm:

haha yeah there was a moment of akward silence as steve and chico tried to figure out when that crazy mcflurry of an announcement would end, and on top of that the weird fart sound a few seconds later just made the moment.

As for Jags..

41 year old Jagr is currently....

top 50 player in points (tied at #41 spot with 18 points)
top 25 goal scorer (tied at #23 spot with 9 goals)
top 20 in +/- (sits at #17 with +10)

all while playing around 18 minutes a game. Just unreal.

Looked at the schedule and came to think of this;

Lets say Jags keeps his streak, scores 9 goals in the upcoming 10 games. He will then stand on 699 goals when facing Penguins away December 13th.

Also, perfect moment for a return of the salute!

Jagr 50 goals in 50 games? Book it.

Also jagr should grow this for Movember

Hey Jagr fans i found this video of a possible teaser for a future documentary about the Kladno team, pretty cool to hear the team and a fan talk about Kladno.

I'm amazed at how many foolish posts I've read about giving Jagr the 'C.' Get real.

Why does it upset you so much?

Jagr has been the defacto captain and where would they be without him?

He's been leading on the ice, leading off the ice, helping his teammates out, helping with the coaching it seems and basically boosting his linemates' and teammates' confidence.

If that is not Captain material then I don't know what is.

yeah lets just rip the C off of Salvador's chest for the hell of it and give it to our defacto best forward.

I'm sure most agree he's been the best Devils player period. I personally don't think Jagr would even agree to takethe C knowing it was taken away from Salvador but to act like those posters who are wanting him to be the given the C are the most ridiculous people is not fair either.

Jagr has been a leader in all aspects of the game, leading the charge offensively and making them win games, he's been doing all the interviews after games, communicating with his teammates and linemates and you can tell he's been at the forefront of instilling a new winning environment while still keeping the laidback feel.

That is exactly what anyone could ask of from their captain.

I agree you just don't strip the C from a player (who hasn't done anything to lose it) and give it to a player who's been there for 20 games but on the flipside, Jagr has been very deserving of being captain.

I don't know man, doesn't matter how good you've played (and Jagr has played well - and still no means near top of league in points or anything like that)
It just doesn't pass the smell test to give someone the C after only being on the team for 20 games and only having a one year deal - that's why it sounds ridiculous

Sounds like we could be repeating Jagr's tenure in the big apple.. hopefully that means another 2 more years with the devils!

I agree he is our best forward, but hes still the defacto best forward. he wouldnt be the best forward on probably 20 other teams. hes our best cause we have nothing better right now (or more accurately, noone playing better)

Yeah I have to agree with apice on this one...Salvador doesn't deserve to be Lindrosed (or even Eliased) just because people don't like him as a player.

I think it's more to do with the fact that the Devils are allowing Jagr to play his game, have you watched him play? In the past month or so, he's been the best player on the ice on most nights and he's played against Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Perey, Getzlaf, Kopitar, Suter and Chara in that stretch. Other teams probably wouldn't have needed Jagr to be doing what he's doing but it doesn't take away from the fact that Jagr has been flat out dominant and to think that if his linemates and teammates (namely Ryder)would be able to finish on some of the great passes and setups Jagr gave them he would be well over PPG and you realize just how good he's been.

I agree though, "if it ain't broke then don't fix it".
