which = 50 points, which I would've signed up for in a heartbeat from him before the year.
For Jagr only to score 50 Pts, he will have to score just 36 Pts in his next 64 games. Jagr has been playing way too well for him to suddenly stop scoring.
Last season, even when he played for Dallas, he was constantly being shuffled around on the lines and was playing with 4th liners on the 3rd line at points.
Fans are vastly underrating what confidence can do for Jagr. Jagr feels wanted in New Jersey (in ways that Dallas and Boston didn't make him feel) and DeBoer seems to respect Jagr a great deal and considers Jagr the team's offensive leader and go-to guy.
The more I watch him play (even during those 2 back-to-back shutout losses (he was the only player who showed up it seems), the more I am convinced that he's going to get better and better as the season wears on.
He's been easily the best player on the ice for both teams the past 10 games or so and they have played some opponents with great players so that says a lot about how great he still is.
I just trust my gut that this season, the end result will be much more positive for Jagr, he won't slow down as the season progresses but rather he will get stronger.
If he can play at a near PPG pace when the team was struggling, just imagine how much better his numbers will be now that it seems like the team is turning the corner?
As for Jagr making a comment about the Devils winning the Cup, it might be a joke somewhat but the last time he made similar comments was back in 2005-06 (during training camp for the Rangers).
That team he played for was picked to be a lottery team, some writers even picked them to finish dead last in the NHL, Jagr's response to that was "we're going to make the playoffs and I will help the team by individually challenging for the Art Ross". He made good on both guarantees. I see a similar confident Jagr.
