I can only pray we get JJ68 for another year. Maybe patty can convince him to stay for a bit longer...

This guy does it all. What a great player even at 41. It has been a great watching him so far...

It depends on what Jaromir wants and where this team is by the trading deadline.....

If we're still in the hunt for a playoff spot and he stays, a good case could be made for Patty to try and convince him to give it one more year here.

But the decision will come down to what Jagr wants.

Not to be crass, but I'm pretty sure money is what Jagr wants. If we outbid everyone else, he'll stay

2+2 is not too much comparing to others...

If he is wanted in the team he will stay. He would have liked to stay in Philly, even in Dallas...

If Jagr continues to play like this and if Lou wants him, Jagr will stay. He hates changes. He wanted to stay in Phily (their GM decided for big signings instead of resigning Jagr, which had bad impact on the team and Giroux) and in Dallas (the prefered draft instead). If Jagr feels, he can still play NHL (and now he feels he can), there is only one person, who can decide about Jagr...Lou.

Yes there are a couple of major factors for Jagr.

#1. He needs the money. Needs to make over 2 million, he may want 3-4 million next year with the clever incentives. So if you can put aside $4 million for Jagr he is yours.
#2. He wants ice time. He is getting older but he still wants top 1 or 2 line minutes and time on the power play. He doesn't want to sit and wait on the 3rd line and play 10-15 minutes a game.

If you guys can afford him and give him the time he wants, he would probably have no problem coming back. Like wounded said, he loves playing for one team and loved his time on each of his passed teams. He wanted to stay a Rangers also, but the team signed horrible contracts to drury gomez and redden leaving no room for Jagr.

This is a very good fit for Jagr. I thought his defensive play maybe a liability but i have never seen Jagr so defensively responsible. He must have picked it up from the Bruins. Also Jagr is throwing his weight around, something he would have never done 5 years ago.

Can the Flyers have Jagr back please?

really? i still remember how bigger part of fans were happy Jagr is gone.. "dont let doors hit you" ect..

what Jagr wants? he is saying it all the time if you are willing to listen.
He loves the game obviuously, he has fun doing it, he wants to play, he wants to be useful.

but you can tell Jagr had most fun in flyers since he came back from Russia. He really liked Giroux, he was doing the salute only there, because players were asking him to do it, i misss it a lot, damn it:D

I really liked his post-game last night - insuring the fans that they will see more good things to come this year from the Devils.

I guess you never watched him as a Rangers player did you? Jagr was at his best all-around with the Rangers, he was embracing the two-way game and was very often seen in his own end making great defensive plays, he was a great leader and was playing with an edge. Go watch the Devils-Rangers and then Penguins-Rangers playoff series in 2008. Jagr was all that.

As I have been saying, this is the best Jagr has been playing since coming back from the KHL and the closest resemblance to his New York days.

I never understood what jagrgodr was talking about when he said : "He needs the money".

Jagr is poor?

He has made millions in his career and, unless he was unwise in his handling of his wealth(which I doubt), he's not exactly hard-up on the Financial aspect these days.

There are rumors that he was bankrupt (which I highly doubt since he owns the Kladno team and has a Reebok endorsement deal in Europe) when he came back from the KHL.

He may have had gambling issues when he was younger but they were never enough to render him broke, he made over 100 million dollars playing in the NHL not including his stints in the RSL/ KHL and his endorsement deals.

his comment refering to 2+ millions is true, remember Pens offered him 1,5 mil? when he was comming from KHL and he felt it was too low, dont jump on him to he elaborated further why he didnt want sign to them (pens)

Didn't he sign for 2 + 2 in incentives?

Seems pretty reasonable for the best forward on the team.

It is very reasonable, but nobody knew for sure how good he would be.

It also doesn't change the fact that he signed with the Devils because they offered him the most money, right?

Remember when he was going to sign with Pittsburgh to get back to his roots and their rival Philadelphia offered him more money?

I love what Jagr's doing for the team, but it's pretty clear that if he plays next year, he'll play for the team that offers the most money.

That's true, like most people he will generally work for best salary possible. However, it's also important to him that he gets 1st/2nd line minutes (both ES & PP) and is allowed to play his style (not back and forth or very defensive).

I don't know, but I think there is more than money preventing him from returning to Pens. Not sure what the problem is, but probably has to do with egos (his, Lemieux's, Crosby's, etc.).

The reason Jagr wants money is because he recently took over ownership of the Kladno team. The team's arena is tiny and they lose money, so he has to put his own money into the team. While Jagr was playing for the kladno team during the lockout they had huge attendance because they were kicking ass, but they were still losing money. He knows that he NEEDS to make as much money as possible while he still has the skill to help fund hockey in Czech. He loves the game and wants to put all the money he can into that team. It is quite clear if you read a lot of the interviews during the lockout.

Jagr thinks he still can play 18+ minutes a game and wants as much money as possible, and he also wants to feel needed and wanted. That is why he is a perfect fit for the Devils. On the bruins he was just another player.. on the Devils he has become that which he always wanted, to be the #1 guy on offense. Yes he is a great team player now, but when he is confident with his situation he can become a ppg player even know at his age. So if jagr thinks he can play top line minutes and produce, why not try to get a lot of money and play top line minutes on whatever team offers it?

Esposito's is broken. the confusion came from Gordie Howe holding the true record at 121

So its Howe 121, Jagr 120

The season is still young, lets look at how well the Devils and Jagr are playing come April.

In regards to changing teams, I think if both parties are happy with the end result this season, it's important that they try and get a deal done. Jagr needs balance and consistency to be successful, constantly changing teams might not be the best thing for him especially at this stage of his career.
