Jackets to start by exorcising demons

The Columbus Blue Jackets don't start their season until Day 4, but they'll start it with a bang playing three games in three days.

First up, they will face off in Detroit against the Wings squad that ousted them from the playoffs with a game 7 win in their round 1 matchup the last time pucks were dropped. (Newest Jacket Bob Boughner, acquired last week from those same Red Wings, says that Detroit will be no pushover this year, so the Jackets will have to be sharp off the whistle).

The Jackets follow that with their first home date, the front half of a home-and-home against the Edmonton Oilers that continues in Edmonton the following night.

That's a lot of travel and a lot of hockey in three days. Better get your rest now, boys - you're going to need it!
