I'm shocked this guy can't stick with someone as their 4th line C. He was adequate in Edmonton at 3C, certainly he must be better than someone's 13th F?
He wasn't adequate last year. He sucked.
His legs are done.
Too slow and he lost his shot from the Oilers PP a few years ago.
Probably just farm team stuff.
he lives in ohio.
Then that works out for everyone involved.
IIRC Columbus offered him that contract earlier in the off season, and he turned it down to explore other options. Guess none ever came, because this is full circle for him over the summer.
he did go to florida training camp but failed to get a full time nhl spot there
well better than nothing
he’ll get some games
Exactly the sort of guy I want to have in Cleveland with the kids. A little disappointed for him that he couldn't get a NHL job elsewhere, but glad that he'll be back.
He wasn't adequate at 3C last year. He was awful. I hope he makes it back and his game can return to what it was two years ago, but he was putrid last season.
Who is the BJs current #4c ?
One of Riley Nash or Brandon Dubinsky. Whoever ends up not getting the #3C job. Lukas Sedlak comes next on the depth chart.
Stenlund and Broadhurst are probably also before letestu in the depth chart so That's really a ahl move they didn't even wait a second to waive him.
has CBJ always released these kind of press releases? Kind of neat

Why is he being placed on waivers I thought he be good for the 4th line on the roster.
We have plenty of guys who are good for the 4th line. At this stage of his career he's much better for us helping out the kids in Cleveland.
Sounds like Andrew Ladd and he got 32 million
He has to be the front runner to wear the C for Cleveland.
This time next year he'll be an assistant coach in Cleveland (or at least somewhere in the organization). Glad to have him back, even if he's lost some of his game with age.
Time for Mark to look at coaching or broadcasting.
I think he'd be a natural in a color commentator role. Jody Shelley should be worried IMO.
