maybe that has something to do with it but this seems to be the case with lots of young d men who play on bad teams nobody cares about. Pesce, Slavin, Hamonic (was until he went to CGY), Faulk, Ristolainen etc... Not saying they are bad players but they sometimes look better than they really are due to playing on crap teams imo. You would think with Carolina having an all star d-corps like HF claims would be able to find more success than they have been. That being said i DO think OEL is legit and i voted for him.

Hard call since OEL is playing without similar talent. They are about equals IMO. OEL's contract sets a high bar for Carlson though. This may be a better point.

Exactly, Carlson played 24+ min a game and a regular on the PK. He's definitely a #1 defenseman.
