From the first time I ever watched him pitch, I always felt like Tim Wakefield had the strangest delivery. Maybe that's just due to the knuckleball. So upright. But he was like the polar opposite of a submariner like Tekulve or O'Day.

yeah, its because of the knuckleball

you dont "throw" one, you want to keep your hand behind the ball and push it to the plate. Thats a big part of how you get no rotation
