BC wins 2 straight against providence to move on after being down and losing the first game.

I have no love for BC, but anything that gives Wally some more games to play this year is a good thing. Hopefully they can go on a bit of a run.

Once Wahlstrom signs his ELC, no more NCAA hockey as he would be a professional and thus ineligible. It would be CHL (I think Cape Breton in the Q owns his rights), AHL, or NHL. His ELC would slide if he goes go the Q. Not sure it slides if he's in the AHL all season though.

Would not be a similar situation to Pulock and possibly Wilde next season?

I read that the Boston college team he plays for has been a disappointment this yr. They advanced this weekend, but I notice they are a low scoring team. May be best to get Oliver out of there.

Or it may be best to watch him stay and help kick-start next year's team back into respectability?

That kind of overcoming of adversity may actually prove vital in his development.

In addition, he had committed to like 14 different college's before settling on BC. To jump ship now would be anything but a positive overall sign.

PS) BC has been low-scoring and a disappointment, but the team still rolls 4 fairly even lines and found a way to defeat a pretty solid Providence Friars club. Their season continues and maybe the team is jelling at just the right time. That'd gotta be what we're wishing for him at this point! Why not go all the way at this point?

He has to be bored

His team is so good in comparison to the other teams that he really doesn't get the type of testing that may have benefited his development.

It's not just that the team in front of him minimizes shots, it's more that they have so much puck control, that the opponents just aren't able to generate much against him.

On the other hand, what he's definitely used to is not seeing a shot for 5 minutes, then needing to make 3 or 4 saves in a flurry.

The only thing I do not like about the College programs, is the frequency of games. An AHL or say OHL team would be a more aggressive approach to having a prospect NHL ready. Maybe you are right, the long term approach is best for Wahlstrom. He's also a late birthday at 18 still, time is on his side.

If he does stay which i think is likely, he’ll be getting Alex Newhook coming in. Newhook could be a potentially good option at center for him.

Doug Weights son Danny is also committed to BC for next year.

Good tie in there. A Center Newhook could be on the Isles radar when they pick this summer.

Him and his wife missed a golden opportunity to name their child "Over".
