We have a lot of interesting college prospects, cockerill can fly he can be a bottom six player just based on that speed and he is excellent penalty killer.

It feels like the results are starting to turn around quickly with all of the organization’s top pro prospects leading the way.

If they can just get good goaltending, they could probably swing it with the best of them in the AHL.

This was a very encouraging day. Hopefully this was also a big confidence booster to them as well. Keep it up boys. If we could salvage MDC, it would HUGE for us.

Well, looks like we can salvage MDC AND JHS...and still get 4 defensive prospects up in the big leagues..Left side we have MDC and Bellows and right side we have JHS, Wahlstrom and Golyshev.. we are looking pretty good on the wings.

Additionally...I've noticed that we have some serious depth...to the point where..we can deal with not 1 or 2 injuries, but 4-5 or even 6 injuries and still look ok.

Wotherspoon and Mirageas need some more attention from us, methinks.

BTW, Koivula's goal was a thing of beauty, showed great hands, kid has talent, just needs to get used to North American hockey.

He’s a big body with soft hands, however his skating needs a lot of work. Sound familiar?

Anyway, Koivula is only 20. It’s going to take him a bit of time to work on things. Anders Lee didn’t break into the NHL until he was 23 I believe and didn’t really arrive until a few years ago.

That’s why drafting players I’m a big believer in also drafting guys who can make the NHL sooner because if you only draft projects, you’ll never be able to supply your NHL team with enough talent at the same time to be successful. It’s a delicate balance.

Let's draft the best available players. If we have excess at left wing then trade one. Not every prospect develops so what looks like excess may not be in a couple of years.

This works in the first round and maybe a bit in the second, but after that, it's positional. For some reason, the science is not there yet for the later rounds and we can't tell that one player will be better than another, so positional drafting makes just as much sense. All I am noticing is over the past 20 years, R-handed players have become rarer and rarer...previous it was the opposite...I think humans are being Genetically modified without us knowing...CONSPIRACY!!!!

JHS looked good, MDC hasn’t lost his ability to snipe, Bellows release is incredibly quick, and I like how Wotherspoon danced around to score that goal.
