Very likely Isles have to add to trade him. Wonder how much.

At least he's much cheaper than his caphit i guess. Only costs $1,25M this season and $4M next season for his 6M Caphit.

He should have negative value. If TJ isnt getting traded for Boychuck should cost a 1st+ to dump
Boychuk is a serviceable player and defenseman command more than wingers. While I agree that his contract means he has negative value, I highly doubt the isles cough up a 1st

Guys an absolute warrior and can still play but he can’t stay healthy and is getting up there in age. The sweetener might sting. I guessing EDM or OTT if it happens.

I’m guessing they would have to sweeten and retain to make this happen. Any updates on Barzal?

if ottawa didnt get a million mediocre defenceman i would have said something like reilly for boychuk plus pick

would save ottawa 250k in salary while gaining the cap hit and islanders save 4.5 million in cap

I also would have much rather gotten boychuk over gudbranson but such is life as a sens fan

Using some inside info here, so take it for what it's worth, but I'd be somewhat surprised if the trade partner here wasn't the Devils.

Kudos to the Islander fan who called Schneider to NYI (though I'm not sure they're excited)

That was like not some genius hot take. All of us had that same thought in our heads as soon as he was bought out, that if one team were to sign him it would be the Islanders.
