Is TV money hurting junior development?

I know it’s only recently that the TV money for the SHL has started to rise, but it seems like fewer clubs are pushing juniors up to the big club to address needs when it’s easier to bring an old hand in.

Just wondering if this continues and if there is a developmental impact going forward.

I would say no. The hockey market is very limited when it comes to both player and club's. With the new TV deal the economic difference between SHL and Allsvenskan got huge, but player wise it remains the same.

It order for it to make a difference, SHL salaries must pass those of the KHL or the NLA.
