Is there another team who’s given up more talent than Ottawa?

Oilers:

Gretzky (GOAT)
Messier (Top 20 player)
Kurri (Top 10 Euro player)
Anderson (HOF)
Coffey (Top 5 defender of all time)
Weight (1000 point player)
Guerin (top line power forward)
Carter (top line forward)
Smyth (top line forward)
Arnott (top line forward, SC winner)
Fuhr (HOF)
Moog (starting goalie)
Satan (top 6 forward)
Whitney (top 6 forward)
Czerkawski (top 6 forward)
Joseph (very good starting goalie)
Hall (top line forward)
Gustafsson (60 points this year)
Dubnyk (starting goalie)
Eberle (top 6 forward)
Pronger (Top 10 defender of all time)

As an Oilers fan, it hurts. I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting.
But you won 5 times with a half of that group. Losing players after you have already won is something that happens to all teams. Losing players because you have crap management is completely different.

Nobody mentioned Alfredsson? That was the beginning of the recent sell off

Zibanejad is near the top below EK and Stone as talent given away for monetary reasons.
Top 6 winger Hoffman.

Well, the Oilers have had crap management too, so that argument doesn't fly lol.

Since 2010 the Hawks have traded , Lost in expansion draft or walked away from (Niemi arbitration) alot of talent

Could honestly build a team out of guys traded away during that timeframe

Panarin-Teravainen-Sharp
Ladd-Bolland-Versteeg
Frolik-Danault-Brouwer
Kopecky-Shaw-Panik
(Hartman , Nordstrom , Bickell , Hinostroza )

Leddy-Hjalmarsson
Campbell-Byfuglien
Kempny-Van Reimsdyk
(Daley , Johns)

Niemi
Darling
(Nilsson)

And that doesn't include guys like Saad and Kruger who Hawks traded and then traded back for who are currently with Hawks organization

Also had guys like Carter Hutton , Brandon Pirri , Adam Clendening and Jimmy Hayes come thru organization and bounce around league

Islanders under Milbury are up there.

Flyers have had their share, most teams have. Forsberg in antiquity...Williams, Sharp, Bobrovsky all stand out. Seidenberg was a player for a while. Williams, Gagne, Carter, and Richards all winning a Cup together on the opposite coast was particularly brutal, right after Sharp had done it.

Then you got to watch Sharpie do it twice more with Hawks ;)

Watching these playoffs have been interesting. Seeing so many ex Sens flourish is bittersweet. It sad to not see them in the Sens colour but I’m genuinely happy for guys like Stone and Duchene.

I’m curious to see if any other team in the league has given up that much talent within the span of the last 6-7 years, 13 if you count Chara.

Robin Lehner vezina nominee
Ben Bishop vezina nominee
Zdeno Chara Norris trophy winger
Nick Foligno captain and 2nd liner
Matt Duchene 1st line center
Ryan Dzingel 2nd line winger
Erik Karlsson 2x Norris winner
Marc Stone selke candidate 1st line winger

Others
Jason Spezza
Marc Methot
They are a bit like Rejean Houles' Habs. I would snatch their scouting staff though.

The Foligno trade was a well worked out hockey trade, they didn't necessarily give up talent for magic beans there. You can add Zibanejad and Hoffman to the list though, they've had a gigantic mass exodus in the last few years. Bad trades and rebuilds happen but this is simply extraordinary.

That's spanning 2 decades. The sens is like 5 years.

Technically, the Islanders gave Chara up, not Ottawa. Ottawa was actually the first beneficiary of the Isles giving up on Chara.

No. The Senators have pulled off quite the feat. They have basically traded away a million dollars for a few magic beans that could turn into a half a million dollars. I feel sorry for their fans.

To be fair, our million was built with magic beans in the first place.

Stone was drafted with a 6th round pick we got from Dallas for Alex Auld.

Dzingel was drafted with a 7th round pick we got from Pittsburgh for Alex Kovalev.

Hoffman was a 5th round pick....

and so on....

Briere
Drury
Campbell

The weird thing is all the players minus Campbell were the captains at the time of departure

Not more but still a lot of talent

NJ too at one point
