Is The Silence of the Lambs a Halloween movie?

In the spirit of the "Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?" debate that is undoubtedly scheduled to begin tommorow, I ask this.

Is it enough of a horror to be considered a Halloween flick? Or does it fall too much into the thriller category that it over shadows its horrific features to be considered such?

I answered the first question with yes, so by that definition it can qualify as a Halloween flick. Other than being a horror movie/movie with horrific elements, it's not related to Halloween.

It's the Alien of thrillers. As Alien is both sci-fi and horror, Silence of the Lambs is both thriller and horror. As such, it is acceptable Halloween viewing.

I don't see how you could make that case. Die Hard at least has Christmas tie-ins, Silence of the Lambs has lotion and a (Halloween?) basket.
