Lou generally gets the religious treatment. He's 100% responsible for everything good that happens, but when something bad happens, he wasn't the cause nor did he have any power to do anything about it.

So when it suits the fanbase, every signing it doesn't like was ownership forcing it on Lou.

Every callup or send down the fanbase doesn't like is DeBoer suddenly having more power than Lou and being able to call up players Lou doesn't want up or send down players Lou wants to stay in the NHL.

So Cam Janssen getting called up seemed horrible at first, so it was totally DeBoer overpowering Lou and calling him up. Then he looks decent for a few games, proving that it was actually Lou making the move. But then he went back to sucking, proving that Lou totally wanted to send him back down after his last good game, but DeBoer overpowered him and kept him up.

Any trade that the fanbase doesn't like seems to be blamed on the player we acquired as if they somehow traded themselves here. See Ken Klee for the perfect example. No one explicitly said "Damn you, Ken Klee for somehow trading youself here!" but considering all of the anger at that trade was vented at him, what else could it be? After all, no one said "I'm just a fan and I know Ken Klee sucks! Why the hell did you make this trade, Lou?!?!"

Yankees fans do the same thing with Brian Cashman. If it's good it was Cashman. If it's bad it was the Steinbrenners or the Evil Tampa Faction. Even if it's something that alternates between good and bad. All of AJ Burnett's good starts were 100% Cashman, but his bad starts were 100% Steinbrenners.

I am actually very excited about the promising talent we have on our blueline but that's about it.

I'm not confident at all that we'll resign Schneider for reasons I've already said earlier (pending stud UFA from NJ = will resign elsewhere) and our offense doesn't look promising AT ALL.

Our best players are 41 and 38 years of age. Our youngsters are looking very average at best and if we can't score, we won't win. Just look at all the great games we've screwed up for Schneider. If we had a offense that was capable of scoring at least 2 goals a game, we would've won half of the games Schneider "lost"... threw no fault of his own BTW.

Threw = Past tense of "throw", as in "he threw a baseball at your face".

Through = What you are trying to say.

I know you are French Canadian or whatever. But figured I'd help a brother out.

All this Lou stuff is ageist claptrap, and negative Nancy doomsaying, but you will never change your tune there.

So I figure I'd at least help you with your English.

Is it time for some posters to get their walking papers?

Let's see what the panel says

Seriously how many times can the same thing be discussed? If arguments keep bringing up the same rehashed points over and over, chances are there isn't much evidence to support claims - and what does that tell you about the topic?

Really I thought this was locked up.

It was Stick's team - not Cashman's.

Lou does the call ups. And Pete plays with the roster he is given. The end. Stop this nonsense.

Isn't it common knowledge that Lou didn't want Kovalchuk? We don't even sniff the SCF in 2012 without a hobbled Kovlchuk as well.

Lou has been granted permanent sainthood for his reclamation of the devils organization. He has become larger than the organization and is incapable of being criticized. Don't get me wrong. We're talking about mythical hockey figure that created an oasis in what essentially was a hockey wasteland, but that was a long time ago. Look at Lou's draft record, cap management and free agent signings since 2005. It isn't pretty. It's actually pretty horrid given his reputation.

Picks my friend. More lottery tickets to go with the talent that they have already compiled. Meanwhile, the devils have the worst forward prospect pool in the NHL with the increasing chance of surrendering a high first rounder in 2014.

Yeah, having a bunch of picks always works. Just look at the Oilers.
