We are 7-2-1 in our last 10, which is great. That means we got 15 out of a possible 20 points.

If we sustain that excellent pace, we still would only get up to 93 or so points. With a lot of luck and divisional wins, that might get us in.

It is unlikely that we sustain that pace and it is unlikely we get the divisional bounces we need to get in with points in he low 90s.

We're also going to be sellers at the deadline. We might only lose Tarasenko as we don't have many desirable rentals. Still, that could upset the chemistry. When you're talking about needing 75+ percent of points, that could be a factor.

Yeah unfortunately it's too late barring a miracle run.
They've lost too many in regulation and it all stems from the sale of team being pushed back which also pushed back on Dorion's dismissal and finally of course Staois not wanting to piss off the players by leaving DJ a month over expiration to preserve "stability"

Next season they'll be top of the East....

No it's not. The league f***ed this team in every way possible this year. How long the sale took ruined this season. The Pinto suspension was pathetic. Atleast they're playing the right way

They also knew of Dorion's mess up earlier and just dropped the 1st round pick penalty on the new owners during the season.

The league doesn't want us to be on a winning front

So, the good news (if you're still holding out hope) is we have the 2nd easiest strength of remaining schedule (using the Tankathon model) in the Atlantic, and 3rd easiest in the east.

The bad news is TB has the easiest remaining schedule...

I doubt we trade Tarasenko if we go 6-0 before the trade deadline, but if we go 3-3 or worse we'll definitely be sellers, especially if the teams we are chasing keep winning.

Sens have 18 road games and 9 home games left in the season. Their schedule will not be easy with all of those road games.

This plus we are .562 at home and are .370 on the road.

Even if we won all 9 home games, we would still need to go .650ish on the road.

This latest run is just to ensure we get a lower draft pick it seems .....

We're 4-1-1 (.750) on the road since 12 Jan when we started playing better

In the immortal words of Julie Turris: "lol".

While not mathematically impossible just yet, there's absolutely no way this mentally fragile team is able to pull it together. It's fun to think about but I just don't see it getting done with the current group. Hopefully there are some notable changes this off season.

Hamonic and Kubalik are absolutely terrible and huge detriments to the team

Chychrun is playing like crap

PP is totally useless

Goalies can be total sieves in some games

Can't make the playoffs with these blatant weaknesses

Couldn't afford to go into the season with DJ Dorion and we did so please stop making these threads
