In no way is it his to lose.

This is probably the most worrisome position on the Leafs. I think the answer might be none of the above (Lindholm, Jooris, Ennis, Goat). A trade or a PTO might have a better shot then those guys.

Yikes. This needs major improvement.
Not really worrisome at all tbh..
Between Lindholm/Gauthier and Jooris, I think we have a great trip of people fighting for one spot.

I think Gauthier might fit best as a PK and face off specialist.... especially if said player is only needed for 8 minutes a game.

I think he has the best shot at it, but you can't rule out Gauthier or Jooris. With Goat's playoffs and contribution to that team he could be the guy.

With 3 players to compete with, all with NHL experience, it sounds more like its Lindholm's job to win, and that wont be an easy task.

At 4 to 5 minutes per game it really depends on what Babs wants. My guess is face-offs, energy and PK duty. Dont forget JT at 20 mins, AM wants more than 18 and NK at 17 so not much left. JT probably gets less, AM gets more and NK will fight to maintain what he has as he is losing 2nd line status and wants his numbers again. At 4-5 minutes per game you are not even going to notice 4th line centre much. For that matter 4th line wingers either. Much will be made of this so called fight at camp but it is a much to do about nothing issue. I have it from a pretty good source that Goat will get the job coming out of camp if he comes to camp in shape and performs to his capabilities.

I think this thread is prematurely too early as training camp and exhibition games will give a better indication of what level and kind of player Lindhom is once we see him in game action.

Hard to access with any sort of accuracy today , where Lindholm sits on the depth chart sight on seen based on SEL league numbers.

I actually think its going to be Jooris.

What's Lindholm's game like anyways? Is he soft and skilled or does he have some meat to his game?

How can it possibly be his to lose when he’s never skated an NHL shift?

By pure ability Ennis is easily the best player vying for a 4th line spot. wouldn’t be surprised to see him beat out Lindholm at all, even as diminished as he’s been with injury in recent years.

Not sure the last time he's played center though. 2013-14/2014-15? I think he's pretty much a LW for us.

jooris and gauthier have good chances at making team too

As we all know after our top 3 Centers, the Leafs are not deep at this position, putting Lindholm in the mix for the 4th line duties especially with his ability to kill penalties and keep in mind that he has decent offensive skills as well

With the departure of Moore and Aaltonen the other options we have are Jooris and Gauthier. I am not sure if the management or the coaches have enough confidence to go with either. Jooris has yet to play a full season in the NHL and Gauthier hasn't impressed so far with his NHL career (at least Babcock is not)

It's going to be an interesting pre season (training camp), as I am not sure how Lindholm is going to adjust to NHL style and to the smaller rinks

I’m... not sure...if serious...

NYLANDER IS A CENTRE!

If we really needed to we could put him at 4C with Johnsson and Kapanen.

I think our C depth is fine.

He's been decent but I've liked Cracknell to be honest. The knock on Cracknell is his faceoff %, which is around a career 40%. Babcock puts a huge emphasis on faceoffs so that could be the nail in the coffin for him.

Don't forget we will be looking for a cheap option for 4C. Considering what will be paid out to the rest, it just has to be that way. So if the cheap option is at least as good as the other options I think that is the way we go. I know Babs doesn't normally think like that, but that is the reality of the situation and he is well aware.

I have liked what I have seen. He plays a quiet game.
