Look at every other player taken inside the top 10 from that 2015 draft right now vs his production.

#1 - McDavid - 210 GP, 87 G, 171 A, 258 points
#2 - Eichel - 212 GP, 76 G, 105 A, 181 points
#3 - Strome - 30 GP, 4 G, 6 A, 10 points
#4 - Marner - 163 GP, 43 G, 95 A, 138 points
#5 - Hanifin - 242 GP, 18 G, 66 A, 84 points
# 6 - Zacha - 141 GP, 16 G, 35 A, 51 points
#7 - Provorov - 167 GP, 23 G, 48 A, 71 points
#8 - Werenski - 158 GP, 27 G, 57 A, 84 points
#9 - Meier - 119 GP, 26 G, 18 A, 44 points
# 10 - Rantanen - 168 GP, 50 G, 76 A, 126 points

At what point is he considered a bust or does he have more time to prove himself?

He's got great size at 6'3" 200lbs and he's a centre, why hasn't he been able to establish himself like everyone else on that list?

This will be his first full season in the NHL. id say as a Coyotes fan, if he doesn't prove it this year, he's a bust

Doesn't look like he belongs in the top 10, that's for sure.

Too early for bust label though.

After 30games in not sure we can say yet, give it a few more years. Just because everyone else was quick to the show, doesn't mean he will not have a great career.

Look at the players on that list, and tell me who do they play with? A lot of them have the benefit of playing with other skilled guys, while Strome hasn't really had that chance.

When he was called up, he played 3rd line (correct me if I'm wrong), on a team with very little talent outside their top 6. I guess we really need to see him play with talent, but he's getting awfully close to bust territory.

However, if you're in your third year as a 3rd overall pick and a forward, and you can't carry a line yet, you probably weren't worth the pick. I guess we need to wait and see a full season out of him, but that's looking like a whiff by Arizona

Marner seen stints on the 4th line on a line with Matt Martin and Dominic Moore multiple times, and still thrived lol. I agree, that unless something huge changes this year it looks like quite the whiff, especially in that draft

The 2015 Draft was the best since 2003. There are multiple players that were picked after five that would contend for top three in other drafts. For the Coyotes it seems like a miss since forwards like Marner and Rantanen were selected after him. There is still time for Strome but at this point he seems to be one of the worst picks in the top then in that draft.

He likely would have lead the AHL in scoring last year if he was left there all season, as a 1st year pro.
Too early for the bust label for sure.

No not a bust. Might need a change of scenery or, likely, just more playing time.

This is looking reminiscent of Kyle Turris' days in Phoenix.

It's not like Strome was completely terrible last year. He would have gotten around 35 points in 82 games at age 20 if he kept us his pace. He had 53 points in 50 games in the AHL at age 20. That's pretty great.

It's not his fault the 2015 draft was a freaking monster.

He's definitely not a bust yet but needs to make significant strides this year.

If anyone in that list is bust is Pavel Zacha. Played more than 100+ games and his point to game ratio is not a top 10 pick right now
He's in a team that has good players

Strome still has a chance to turn this around. He needs some time to build confidence. I think he'll be fine

He's definitely not going to be in the same sentence as the others who got picked before and right after him

That one game, the last game where he scored 6 points to take the OHL scoring lead. I wonder if he didn't score 6 points and Marner wins the OHL title, would the Coyotes have picked Marner instead
