So, the Italian Winter Olympic Games are starting tomorrow (even if the hockey tournament starts only 5 days later).
As a quick introduction, here come some related links and pictures:

Unbelievably, venues’ capacities are still unconfirmed. I’ve read on supposed-to be–reliable-sources completely different figures, going from 4.300 to 6.000 for ‘Torino Esposizioni’ and from 8.200 to 12.500 for the ‘Palasport Olimpico’ (PalaIsozaki).
My current guess is 5.800 for the first and around 11.500-12.000 for the main one.
Now the pictures:
1* First off, an image of the city hosting the event, Torino (enlightened, the dominating Mole Antonelliana).
2* then a view from the satellite of the area that will be the centre of ice hockey world for those two weeks. The image was taken something like one month ago and Piazza d’Armi, the place in front of the Olympic Palace, was still under construction. On the left you can see the Olympic Stadium where both ceremonies will be set, on the right the aforementioned Olympic Palace.
3* the third is a view of the Olympic Palace from the beginning of Piazza d’Armi. On the right you can see the ‘Torre Maratona’ (Marathon Tower), yet to be enlightened. Behind, a foreshortening of the Olympic Stadium.
4* a rendering of the inside of the Olympic Palace, where both semifinals and finals will be played.
5* a view of the inside of the other Olympic hockey venue, the ‘Torino Esposizioni’, a temporary rink.
