Newly moved to Dallas, by way of NY. Spent almost 10 years in the military. Played D3 college hockey, kept playing 4-5 times a week until I was about 27. Deployments, orders to bases that didn’t have local ice, etc. cut into my play time but I was still on the ice fairly regularly. This past year, I left the military, moved a few times, covid happened, etc. and I haven’t skated since May 2019!! Longest I’ve gone since I was 3 years old. Went to a stick and puck last week and for the most part I’ve still got it but there’s definitely some rust on my mitts and my on ice cardio isn’t there. Skating is a different workout.
